I remember watching ever Leslie bare escentuals show. Is this brand STILL huge or what happened to it? The shows used to be huge and people couldn't wait. I was at a BE outlet the other day and I got kits under $15. I miss seeing demonstrations. Did people just find something better or did the brand just go away? I don't think I will never use another foundation. The fairy medium is perfect for me. And I've tried Josie and IT etc but nothing does the same job.

I truly believe IT has taken over the spotlight.  Lisa and Leslie talked about being best friends and since Lisa is gone I don't see Leslie.  As I have aged, Bare Minerals began to make me look older as it seemed to settle in the fine lines.  As of yet, IT hasn't done that.

I haven't tried IT but I gave up on Bare Minerals years ago.  It seemed to work for awhile then one day I looked in the mirror and I saw this chalky, ashy face and my face would burn. I don't wear much makeup anyway so I usually just wear a tinted moisturizer or nothing at all.

I'm pretty sure Leslie sold Bare Minerals awhile ago.

I like a few things in the line.

They have revamped and totally gotten rid the "older" vast skincare line (Macy's, and other stores no longer has it) one product was a really effective good priced cleanser I just grew to love  when trying to find something less then my 40.00 cleanser. A WHOLE new line now  and a few other things..can't recall those  right now...but was surprised.. funny the "older line" is STILL on their site and at CVS and maybe other places then you see it as the "going going gone" kind of thing sale, but I didn't these on sale? ODD. I tried the new cleanser and it was lousy. It was nothing like the other one I liked so very much. I had a sample and glad I did! I'd have returned it. So @MommaNJ629..I think you may be seeing that in kits perhaps or the comany getting rid of excess xmas kits.

Leslie did sell out a while ago....can you imagine the weath! *sigh*

I agree I do not see BareM on much now and I do love "It"..Jamie is like the upcoming Leslie in a way. I love her line

I think the brand is big--but not being as actively promoted HERE.

The specials on their own site are great and they are certainly widely sold. I'm a big fan. I got a TSV twice, and I use them frequently The powder seems to work better on my skin than IT's powder foundation or Laura Geller's. It's all what works for you.

I know IT is being heavily promoted here and I do love the CC++ cream but I probably wear BE more often.

Bare Minerals was originally sold by infomericals, and when QVC picked it up, it got very popular and was a major brand here for a number of years. The brand was sold to Shisedo several years ago.

It is now sold all over the place - Sephora, Ulta, Macy's, as well as their own stores, so QVC no longer has the exclusivity needed  to sell a lot of product (think Wen).

Jessica said the new skincare line is made by Shisedo. Not impressed by the ingredient list.

This line is definitely alive and well.  I use it, but I mix it with LG.  I've never understood the comments about it aging the look of the skin.  Doesn't do that to me, but I am not heavy handed with it.  It covers beautifully.

Re: Bare Minerals

[ Edited ]

QVC never had exclusive sales of bareMinerals.  According to this Forbes article, it was always sold at Sephora and elsewhere.  QVC sales were later in the timeline.

Leslie is still part of the company: she named herself executive chairman.  Yes, the company is now owned by Shiseido, but Leslie is still making decisions.

@MommaNJ629  If you ever want to try other mineral foundations, there are plenty to choose from.  My personal favorite is Alima Pure.  It does not have the bismuth oxychloride that Bare Minerals has and that irritated my own skin and was the cause of common complaints about irritation by many others.   (Alima also has a brilliant selection of shades broken down into multiple shades each of cool, warm, neutral, beige, and olive.  There just happens to be a sale on it right now.)

I really like, however, bareMineral's Mineral Veil and its Ready line.

I agree with you, it has great coverage.  I keep a variety of products so if one is discontinued I still have others to use but BE foundation and eye shasows are still amazing.  That being said I have a large stash of the old foundation, bought as a precaution, and have oily skin which really makes a difference.  I put the powder on and 30 minutes later it seems to have 'morphed' into my skin.  No wrinkles to be seen.
