Balance and brighten vs. balance and glow....

For those who have used both maybe explain the difference.  When I used It Cosmetics products with illumination I looked like the tin man.  Also does either settle badly in lines and wrinkles.  I have gotten to the point that any liquid foundation seems to make my face look worse not better by finding every wrinkle I did not know I had and emphasizing them.  And yes I have used moisterizer and primer on my combo skin and that makes no difference in the outcome.

ugh that IT illumination  was the worst

Re: Balance and brighten vs. balance and glow....

@chiclet I can't speak to the Balance and Glow but I'm currently using the Balance and Brighten as my foundation and I love it. It leaves a natural finish on my skin which is neither dewy nor matte.  I don't know how this would look if I were to build it up, to try to get a lot of coverage, but with just a light, even layer buffed on my skin, it's undetectable. I have texture so this is a good thing and something I  don't get with liquid foundation.

I'm using the shade Fair, which is a tad dark for me but ok for summer. Porcelain would probably be a better match for me. HTH

Here is what I use:

Omiana Rosacea cover (only 1 shade) with 100%Pure liquid water foundation (mine is the lightest cool 1 shade).

@chiclet Balance-n-Brighten is a matte color correcting foundation. Balance-n-Glow is color correcting as well, but also has the that terrible illumination...aka Tin Woodsman glow.  The B-n-B can give a nice coverage as long as you know when to stop.  Too much buildup and you won’t like it.  I personally prefer it as a light dusting over my BB cream when I want a little extra coverage and to carry in my purse for touch ups after eating.  IMO, most foundations are going to settle because our faces aren’t flat.  The trick is to have a good skincare routine, the right kind of foundation (or BB/CC cream) for your skin type, and not over apply,

The Balance and Glow does have some luminescence to it, which on my 68 y.o. skin was not a good thing.

I tossed it and stick with my Balance and Brighten.

[ Edited ]

I used to love my Bare Minerals original powder foundation, but stopped using it a year ago because it had a powdery look on my skin...a more dewey look is better on me.

Can anyone compare Balance and Brightern to BM? Powdery finish? Compared to Bye Bye Pores which sat in the pores and was an awful powder foundation on me, too?

I'm thinking that powders are just not "me", but cetainly they are good for a quick application.

@chiclet   I may sound like a broken record here, but when wrinkles and enlarged pores are an issue, a lighter coverage like a tinted moisturizer w/ some coverage is better. Then use a concealer in your skin tone shadeto cover redness or imperfections around nose, cheeks, forehead...anywhere you need to touch up. This needs to be a concealer w/ a thicker consistancy than one you use under your eyes. Of course, I'd recommend Bobbi Brown's Full Coverage concealer in a tube w/ doe foot, also Tarte Shape Tape, that type of fuller coverage, thicker consistency. Lighter weight concealers like Nars Radient Concealer is great for under the eyes.

@Shanus

I switched from BM to the balance & brighten, I didn't find it nearly as powdery and it doesn't just 'sit' on my skin like it's caked on.

I use the B&B glow and I don't look like a tin man at all.  It gives a nice fresh look with a touch of a glow.
