Baking Soda On Your Face For Eye Bags?

A few days ago a YT self confessed skin expert said to temporarily shrink eye bags, make a paste of water and baking soda.  Seems like that would really make for some super dry undereyes.  Has anyone heard of this?

My  complexion would be "on fleek" if it wasn't for these stupid eye bags.  During my knee surgery and physical therapy, they were at least 75% gone.  Now they're back Smiley Sad

Baking soda upsets the protective acid mantle. I would never put it on my face.

I think the baking soda would be too drying on the skin. I am happy with the results from Plexaderm.

Why do you think during surgery and pt they would shrink, since I had arthroscopic knee surgery in Jan, you have peaked my interest.

I read that baking soda can upset the ph balance of your skin and could cause irritation after a while. It might help with acne, but there is no evidence that it does any real good overall. I wouldn't try baking soda, best to leave it off your face.

So does Skinn DermAppeal. It's the 6th ingredient listed in the deck.

Re: Baking Soda On Your Face For Eye Bags?

I have used both the Lancer Polish and the Skinn Derma Peel....I do mix with a cleanser like Purity but didn't know the baking soda in them is bad for the skin.  I know Skinn has menthol also which is another skin irritant.

I do not use them often...trying to use up the little bit of Derma Peel I have left but I do really like the Lancer Polish.

LOVE LANCER POLISH TOO TSAVORITE.  EVERYBODY ENTITLED TO THEIR THOUGHTS.  WE WERE  BROUGHT UP ON A WEEKLY BRUSHING OF BAKING SODA ON OUR TEETH AS MY MOM SWEARED BY IT.  STILL DO IT TO THIS DAY AND LOVE THE WAY MY TEETH FEEL AFTERWARDS.

SOMETIMES THE SIMPLEST MOST  BASIC PRODUCTS ARE THE BEST!!!
