Thanks for your sweet wishes. My desk at work makes my shoulder hurt when reaching for the mouse and keyboard and i cant make my chair higher. I didnt dream id be in this much pain but leave is over and work i must! Boo.

@LizzieInSRQFrom what I've read, I belive that statement to be true.  Hairdressers hate having to try and correct box color.  I know during Covid when people couldn't go to the hairdresser, mine sold the custom color mixtures she used to her clients along with directions.  While I'm sure she made some money on it, she also knew that those clients would more than likely be returning to her chair. 

I couldn't afford to pay my hairdresser to color my hair every 5 weeks either.  I just paid $65 for a wet haircut today and I do that every 6 weeks.  That's just the cut.  I dry it myself. 

I wash my color out in the shower.  I despise leaning over the tub to to wash my hair, so I save that for just washing out the conditioner since I don't want to get back in the shower again once I'm out.

My silver hair looks so much better than the professional coloring I've had done for years.  

It's almost like the (cool) platinum highlights I had in my 30's.  Never liked the yellow blonde on me.  Or the many shades of brunette.

My roots came in at Day 18.  So hiding them was a chore.  It was hideous (jmho) until I sat in that chair.

And stylists from 4 different states would constantly tell me (when I was screaming in my head---hurry up and get that color going-slop it on!) 'you're grey is the color women wish they had'.

So I went with it.  I'm never going back.  I get compliments all the time.  All the time.

I honestly don't think I'd look younger if I had my hair colored to hide my grey.  Or I'd do it.

I like the way I look, my hair color is fine.

I honestly don't cringe when I see other women with grey hair, younger or older than me.  If they want to style it nicely, that's fine.  It's what I do and I think that has a lot to do with the compliments I get.

If they don't, that's what they choose to do.  I have no problem with that, either.  

Honestly, I don't want to look 10 or 20 years younger.  I just want to look beautiful.

@Shanus - Congratulations on your new hair color! I'm sure it looks beautiful!  

My two close friends are brunettes. I'm naturally blonde. They both get their hair colored every 4 weeks. I used to be every 8 weeks, but now I'm down to 6. 

They both tell me my color blends better with my grey than theirs does!

I have a few friends who have chosen to go completely white, or silvery grey.

I got my father's blonde hair. He didn't start to turn grey until he was in his 60's. Mom had pure white hair by the time she was 30. She took me to the playground one day and someone asked her about her "granddaughter." She said she went home, told my dad she was going to color her hair, and never stopped doing it herself, up until the day she left this earth. People always commented on her beautiful blue-black hair. Meanwhile her identical twin never touched hers. Both originally had dark brown hair, almost black. Their friends called them the "salt and pepper" twins!

@Carmie   My pepper was dyed a medium brown, but couldn't find a pic that photographed like that. Some salt remains so it's not all one color and has dimension...

@beach-mom   Thanks and great story! To be clear to all, I didn't do this to look younger but rather to make my face a different color from my silver hair.

I agree with you.  The woman in the picture above looks much younger because of the style of her hair and her make-up.
