BEAUTY RESOURCES - Skin care and Makeup

Care to share some of the beauty resources you consult?

I'll start. I use the following rather consistently:

1. Beautypedia - I particularly appreciate the scientific sources cited for further review if needed;

2. The Beauty Brains - they have a newsletter you can subscribe to that assists in learning about the skin care industry and online courses if you are so inclined;

 3. Chemists' Corner - a little more scientific and also offer online courses;

4.  Dermstore.com

There are others but these are my favorites.

Thanks for this thread ~

The Blogs from Derm-Store are interesting and informative.  I like that there are frequent suggestions that don't involve buying new products such as increase water intake, lemon juice, etc.

For skincare and haircare:

I love beauty brains too- been reading their blog for several years now, always interesting.

Of course beautypedia although I really despise the new website so I don't go there as often anymore. I really wish they'd go back to the original way they used to do it. I too appreciate that she includes the scientific studies that backs up what she states.

I also enjoy reading scientifc studies in various scientific journals.

I have never heard of Chemist's Corner so I will have to check it out.

The chemist who created Chemist's Corner is the same chemist I'll be taking a five month formulating course through.  He is also half of The Beauty Brains.  Chemist's Corner is very heavy on the formula, ingredient, scientific side.  It is a global community of working cosmetic chemists.  Often they are working through a formulating problem one is having. They are a savvy bunch but probably not a group I'd go to for basic advice.  For example, this is where I started research on determining what type of lab equipment I should expect to need.  MakingSkincare is somewhat similar but in a Facebook format.
