I'm not sure what I expected, never watched this before. It just seemed like a 2 hr. show to sell beauty products.

I thought it could be an hour or less just listing the products....or just listed on line. Same old inventory... No special pricing or free ship either.

I remember many years a go when Kathy Levine retired and they had her "party" on air, they sold stuff thru out the whole thing.

Re: BEAUTY AWARDS SHOW?

[ Edited ]

That wasn't the awards show. It was basically there to show some of the nominees. Qvc wants you to vote.

There's a Beauty Event SALE going on also. Some things have free shipping while others have prices reduced as much as 50% off.

@SilleeMee   Thanks for the info, but never vote. I think it's a sham and the "winners" are either the bestsellers or sleeper items I've never heard of or presented. Sometimes the makeup or skincare have only been online and obscure.

When the Award Show actually does air, it will be exactly as you described anyways.

Of course it will be to sell the entire time.  It's a Shopping Channel so I wouldn't expect anything else.

I have a question. If you are voting for the best in a category shouldn't you have tried all the items in that category? I assume most people who vote usually vote for the item they tried. Am I not understanding the point of the beauty awards, other than to sell products?

@Janey2 exactly.  I don't vote because these awards are nothing more than a popularity contest.  I would venture to guess that most voters vote for the item they use and have never tried the others or they just vote for the name they recognize.

I actually got bored going through the voting.  LOL  So many products I've never heard of or used - so I just left those blank.

And we still don't know who at Q comes up with the nominees, because it sure isn't the people purchasing the products.  Maybe it's based on sales amount?
