After years of having  salon facials and my skin looking worse for weeks, I decided to give myself one at home.

I read about a mixture  of honey, 100% fat milk and 100 % fat yogurt. There was no ratios given. The honey was the binder.

I don't expect miracles at 75.  I want to look refreshed.

i have it on my face and waiting for it to dry.

Has anyone used it?

I drink plenty of water, don't drink alcohol or stay in the sun. I don't wear makeup.

it's as if for every year I age, my skin ages five.

I haven't used this DIY facial myself.  What is it that you want it to do?

It sounds like it would give some exfoliation from the lactic acid, but I don't know how effective it would be with the honey added. The honey would moisturize.

Personally, when I do an extended treatment I exfoliate separately first then follow up with the moisturizing step,

My skin is dry and I wanted it to look refreshed, less dry.

What do you exfoliate with?

@Puppy Galore  Do you moisturizer daily? I think it's a key step in helping to keep the skin from aggressively aging.

My husband has recently started paying attention to h moisturizing his skin, and what a noticeable difference.

I haven't had a facial in years. I always felt raw afterward.

My sister swears by it.

Re: At home facials

That face mask sounds delicious! I'd add some granola and berries to the leftovers that didn't get put on my face.  I do my facials at home with drugstore face mask products.  This recipe could be a nice new mask to add to my routine. Enjoy your milk, yogurt and honey facial, @Puppy Galore 🙂

@Puppy Galore - daily, after cleansing in the morning, I use a DIY star anise (Shikimic acid) toner.  It's super gentle, feels like nothing.  Occasionally I'll use an enzymatic cleansing powder.  At night, I use Tretinoin.

If you have salon facials and your skin looks worse for weeks something is wrong. They are probably using products too harsh for your skin. I use tatcha rice cleanser a couple of times a week. Then I use their deep hydration mask. Great results

I do with Cetaphil. I have sensitive skin and most time it works for me. Not the past few weeks,

@Puppy Galore - the toner is a DIY.  You can do a Macy's search for enzymatic cleansing powder but I buy mine on Amazon.  The Tretinoin is a prescription that I get at Walgreens.
