Hello Ladies! I need help deciding on a new foundation. For close to 2 years I was using IT Confidence in a Compact in the Light shade, and on Auto-Delivery. When that ended, I still had some left in my compact. Then the pandemic hit NY and since I work in the school system, had to stay home and gave my skin a rest from makeup.  I tried a Mally powder, but was disappointed with the application. I liked applying the foundation with a brush, but there are so many IT foundations that I do not know where to turn.  I am turning 60 soon, and I still have a slightly oily t-zone late in the day. My skin is fair, with dark undereyes ( I am Italian) and the It undereye concealer does help. I am hopeful to travel back in the city when school starts as I work in an elementary school and I would like to try Doris Dalton Skin Anti-Stress Skin Perfector. I used the blue oil blotting paper during my lunch hour and don't have much time to use a finishing powder. My foundation goes on at 5:30 am and I don't get home until 4:30 pm. Is Doris's new perfector a good choice? Thank you.

Re: Assistance with Foundation

I get oily during the day.  I like IT Matte CC cream but  I also like Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation...it's an old one by them.  It used to have like 4500 five star reviews but always got overshadowed by the Q pushing bare minerals all the time back then.   BUT they do still make it.

If you want a good full coverage matte foundation --- Catrice HD foundation.  I'm oily and this works like a boss.

@ladyny60   First of all stay away from applying powder after your foundation.  Not attractive on mature skin.  I am 70 and found Bobbi Brown's liquid to powder foundation for oily to normal skin.  My skin in normal and I like the matte finish.  It is sweatproof which is very important especially in summer.  There are many shades and undertones to choose from another plus.  It does not feel like you are wearing makeup.  I can get a medium coverae from this product.  It's $40 unless on Bobbi's website they are offering a discount.  It is also at Nordstrom.  I know at Nordstrom if you don't like it you can free return it and I would think it is the same for Bobbi's site.  It's a liquid.  You would need to wear a concealer it sounds like.  Anyway give Bobbi Brown's foundations at look at.  You really can't lose.  Cat Very Happy

Re: Assistance with Foundation

Hi bfdrew!  Thanks for mentioning Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation. A few years ago I used the Tarte Shape Tape in Light for a while for my undereyes then went to IT cosmetics. I have to go to Ulta this week, which just re-opened in Staten Island and see if I could get a little sample in Light or a shade close. I know how different things are in the store, but I will give it a try. I did write down all the suggestions I received.  I remember when Maureen Kelly, ( I believe thats her name and she had long red hair) started coming to QVC with her Tarte gel cheek tints!

Re: Assistance with Foundation

Hi...  I'm quite the makeup lover and have all different types of foundations due to watching QVC and youtube tutorials.  I'm almost 61 with combination skin as well.  Out of ALL the foundations that I have, I love my Bare Minerals original powder foundation the best.  It is weightless, doesn't accentuate pores, is very natural looking and if applied correctly, will last all day!   If you buy it in a makeup store vs QVC, you'll find many shades to choose from!  Watch Shelbey Wilson's youtube tutorials on how to apply it correctly.  She used to work for them.  It goes on like a powder but when you buff it, it looks creamy and it's never drying.  I get many compliments on my skin.  Don't buy a matte liquid foundation!!!!  It will accentuate every pore and line.  I hope this helps.

@ladyny60

I am a HUGE fan of IT's Confidence in a Compact.  I'm bummed that it's been discontinued.  I wear the Light, too.  I also use IT CC Cream in the Light/Medium.  It matches my skin tone perfectly.  Perhaps give that a try?

Are you planning to wear foundation under a mask?

Re: Assistance with Foundation

Hello ECBG!  I work for the NY school system, and hopefully when they open in 2 weeks, will go back to my routine.I am going to wear foundation like I used to. I would just add concealer and some pencil to shape my eyebrows. I wanted to buy some new lip products, but will settle for clear lip gloss. I tried the Tarte Amazonian foundation and was happy with the results. I will see how it works with the mask, but I feel foundation evens out my skintone.( and gives me a more dressed up look).

Re: Assistance with Foundation

Hello SurferWife, When IT was discontinued, I just didn't know which other product of theirs to use.  I even sent an email to the company, but got no response. I just started to use Tarte Amazonian Clay, but will keep IT CC Cream in mind. Sometimes when a company comes out with all these "new and improved", it can get confusing. Thanks for the suggestion.
