I have to admit I am one to try different lines of skin care and I never have had anyone ever notice a change or improvement. I am generally told I have nice skin or look younger than my age. Have any of you had someone notice? A poster mentioned her Derm noticed benefits in using the recent Dr. D. TSV. That says quite a bit and a compliment.

How long do you use a line or topical product(not prescription) before you switch? I am a firm believer that you don't see result or drastic results overnight or within a couple weeks. You may see improvement but I really think you need to try something for at least a month.
I think I look good for my age and have had people tell me I have nice skin.

I have really good skin and went on to have really great skin only after giving up on all the drugstore products, big box products or TV products. I really got results when I started to have my skin professionally micro-peeled and routine facials accompanied by prescription strength retinol products. However, there is a different level of care that you must do daily and that is sunscreen 100% of the time when using retinol. Not always easy, but worth it.

I have a sister who has been a sun worshiper and has smoked pretty much her entire life. She has some rosacea and tons of little lines round her mouth from the repeated squeezing her lips together to take a drag from her cigarette. She's never really done much of anything to care for her skin. I mean, she either doesn't bother to wash her face much of the time and when she does, she just uses whatever soap is in the shower. We are SO different in that regard. Anyway, we were at a family party a couple of years ago and we were sitting kind of close. She said something to me along the lines of, "you probably don't even go out in the sun because you don't have any wrinkles or crow's feet". It happened to be a few months after I had gotten serious about my skin care, got off of the products that were harming me, and started regular use of AHA and Retin-A.

Yes, I've noticed a difference after using some very good products. I've always had pretty good skin-no real issues to speak of- but I definitely have seen improvement in clarity, tone and lessening of some slight redness I'd get on occasion near my nose. And also lessening of dryness.
You definitely have to give products time to work, at least a few weeks to start seeing a little change (maybe even longer depending on what issues you have and how severe they are) and then a month or two to really notice. And I've read that with products like retin-A, you will really see a difference by 6 months. Products need time to undo the damage that has been done so don't ever expect miracles. Sometimes the change occurs so slowly that you don't really even think it is doing anything until people start to comment on how great your skin looks or when you stop using the product, you realize the other product(s) was working.
Those of use who have good skin usually still have some things that can be improved, even if it just brighter skin, reducing oil production or, on the opposite end, lessening dryness.

I have been using Skinn Hylighten for 4 months, and it really works. I have had really seriously dark circles all my life. I'm hoping I don't become immune to it.

Well 3 weeks ago I was at an appt with someone I had not seen in 2 years. She actually asked me if I used skin care products. I said yes I use SKINN. She said she thought i was younger and I mean 20 years younger!!! IT MADE MY DAY LOL.

Not the "renewed" version, but Philosophy products in general hurt my skin more than helped it. I faithfully tried to stick with it, but after a long attempt I ended up with millia, congested pores, enlarged pores. I know some people love the brand, but I can't recommend it.
