No, I don't buy them, listen to their ads or watch their presentations on QVC or pay any attention to them, so they bother me not at all. I'm surprised they're as popular as they are, considering how ineffectual they appear to be.

@San Antonio Gal I have to say that is one area that I am not savvy in. Is that the You Tube website?

@LTT1 I hate that too. I refuse to purchase any Trish McEvoy products. A few years ago I purchased lipstick and eye shadow from her and some of her prices were high but then she went overboard and raised all her prices. This is cosmetics, not gold!

Most definitely ! But I learn that, the whole process of searching for a dupe can exceed the price of a high brand item ! So I buy only what I need and try not to fall for a pretty packaging or thing I don't need ! I love lipsticks so I look for colors I like than purchase on eBay same with eyeshadow ! I'm 55 years old and only wear TM on my face ! I use 50% of Josie and 50% of elemis skin care ! Nothing expensive ! My skin is loving it! Beautiful bright lips light up the face! Marc Jacobs and Nars eyeliner last forever and tarte blush and I'm done ! Top it off with Dior mascara and I'm telling you beautiful ! So ladies less is more when comes to buying dept store brands but remember they are better quality last longer deliver and you ending up with buying less frequent ! That's my opinion !

I no longer purchase high priced lipstick. I found a couple of drug store brands that I love and they have a ton of colors. I ditched Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation about a year ago. I now use Clinique Redness Solution foundation. Covers better and it costs $29 versus $42. I haven't found a drug store foundation I can wear. I switched to Maybelline mascara. The pink and green tube works fine and I don't use a ton of mascara anymore. I am looking for a good drug store eyeliner.

It's funny you should bring this up because I just ordered Tatcha's primer today. I've been looking at it and holding back because of the price. However, I wanted to get my birthday bonus from Sephora, so I took the plunge. I ordered it this afternoon, and just got an email that it was shipped, so soon .I will see if it was worth the hype, fingers crossed.

I have never purchased high-priced cosmetics. It just didn't seem a good way to spend money. I buy quality brand products at Walmart, at BBB with a coupon, Costco for sunscreen--that sort of spending. I wear make-up because I look better, not because I enjoy it. Actually I don't enjoy the time I spend putting it on. But I have no problem with those who do enjoy high-end cosmetics. They probably would not approve of other ways I spend my money.

@Katcat1 wrote:I know I am. Every time I turn around Laura Mercier is raising her prices and she is not alone. Bobbi Brown is high and Trish McEvoy is out of her mind with her prices. I don't dare even look at Armani, Dior, Chanel, Clarins. OMG! How do you feel about it? I started shopping for alternatives but it's not easy.
I wouldn't and have NEVER bought any of these brands since they do animal testing and are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. I'm NOT impressed by the name.

I think you can blame youtube for cosmetic prices whether high end or drugstore. I learned my lesson and quit buying everything.

Just realized that I have not purchased one single cosmetic item from Sephora the entire year 2018 and I am Rouge. I am about to turn 65 and I think I must have tried almost every makeup line out there at one time or another.
I now stick to the tried and true and have stopped experimenting. After all is said and done, just how many mauve lipsticks can one woman own. LOL
