Re: Are Professional Salon Hair Care Products Superior to Drug Store?

This is what works well for me:

  • Coloring Hair - Revlon Colorsilk
  • Hairspray - Sally's
  • Dry Shampoo - Suave
  • Cleansing - Wen

Absolutely not.

As a hairdresser for over 30 years, now retired, you can find great products over the counter. Just because it is "professional" doesn't mean it is right for your hair & just as importanly your budget. Look on line for product reviews for your type of hair. Buy the smallest size of product and give it a chance. Keep a notebook of how different products work. Not all products work well together so if you have a product you do like it may be the combination of that product with another that causes a problem. And make sure you rinse your hair well. Hope this helps.

I do not believe there is a difference and maybe it is regional but Suave it not the lowest.

In the stores I see on the lowest shelves for a $1.00 White Rain Shampoo and VO5. I am really happy with Suave Biotin.
