Anyone using a pressed serum?

Hello Beauty Geniuses!

About a month ago, I picked up two pressed serums from Blithe on A"""n. I have the golden apricot and the chaga mushroom. They are very moisturizing, but I noticed the other day that I have two millia (ugh) now. So, I'd like to know if it's the wrong season for such things OR if they are not suited to my skin.

Has anyone tried a pressed serum? What did you like or dislike about it.

For the curious:

A pressed or solid serum combines the properties of a serum and facial moisturizer into one single, compact product. These solid serums often have a thicker, waxier, or jelly-like texture that “melts” into the skin after application and offers superior hydration

@Squirrels Are Trash  - I have never tried or actually heard of a pressed serum.  From the description you listed, it sounds like maybe it's too heavy for your skin?  Just a thought.

That may be the case, darn it!

Back in the aughts, when La Mer was the thing, I reacted similarly. The texture of La Mer is very like that of a pressed serum. My skin is much dryer now, so I thought I could use more of a balm texture.

The only pressed serum I've used is this one and I didn't care for it.

That's too bad; the Hydro-Boost line reminds me of the Clinique Moisture Surge, which I like very much.

That Neutrogena pressed serum left my skin red and irritated. I threw it out. Not very many things irritate my skin but that one did.

I also have skin that isn't sensitive. So when it is reactive I am surprised.

Re: Anyone using a pressed serum?

I haven't tried any and have so much product on hand that it will be a while before I try anything like this.  Thank you for bringing this up @Squirrels Are Trash

I've never tried one but, yes (like others said), it sounds like it's just too much for your skin to handle, and is clogging it up.

Which is a foreign concept to me because I have the type of dry skin that can handle a thick layer of Lard with no problem! haha

Re: Anyone using a pressed serum?

@GingerHead @This is going to read as super dorky. But the pressed serum is really fun to apply. You put on a thin layer and lay your hands over your face so the warmth of them melts the serum into your face. It's feels very nurturing and moisturizing.

Before I totally give up I am going to try to only use one at a time and use much less. But, yah, I bet you and the other ladies are right and it's too heavy for me.
