Anyone use/used Amlactin lotion/cream?

I used a sample of the lotion today on my hands and I was very impressed. At first, I thought it was a little greasy, but within seconds, it absorbed right in. I believe the packet said it had 12% lactic acid in it.

I bought a tube of AmLactin cream and even though it's unscented it still smells -- bad.  Does anyone know if the AmLactin lotion (in pump bottle) smells also?

I've used AmLactin, but actually prefer Cerave SA lotion. It absorbs better for me and doesn't smell as bad. Also AmLactin would sting when I applied it.

@SunshineKate, all of the AmLactin products smell the same to me.

I have calluses on my feetand the the doctor suggested this lotion.  I rarely use it because it's not creamy or softening.  Maybe if I used it every night.............

Yes, it does smell like lactic acid, but that dissipates after a while.  Yes, it can be tacky.  Apply less.  The great thing is that it does exfoliate very effectively and lactic acid is not aggressive on my skin like retinol.  Very nice for my older skin.

I over-bought it after trying it at COSTCO years ago. I used it up, but didn't repurchase. Wasn't that impressive to me. I like Curel Ultra Healing unscented far better.

Not sure how the price compares but I really love either the AHA or BHA body lotion from Paula's Choice.  No odd odor, very creamy, and it works.  I, too, have bad callouses and I use this at night along with Kerasol ointment occasionally.  PC's lotion also took care of some little bumps under my bra line.

I purchased once and it was o.k.   Now I just use my Alpha Hydrox 10% AHA lotion,  then when that dries I put on a moisterizer.

I bought this once based on good reviews and wasn't impressed.  Didn't buy it again.  I like Aveeno for hands or Neutrogena.

Gold Bond is excellent for feet.

CassieM, I agree with you. I much prefer the Cerave SA lotion over AmLactin. I get the one in the tub/jar at Walgreens. If anyone wants to try the Cerave, be sure to get the one that says "SA" lotion and not just the regular moisturizing one. They look very similar. And FWIW, I also tried the Gold Bond Rough and Bumpy cream but still prefer Cerave SA.
