yes, L-ascorbic is considered the "gold standard" of vitamin c but other goods ones are MAP and SAP, especially if you have sensitive skin and are more stable, just not as potent. But if you can tolerate it or find a good one that doesn't irritate your skin (like I finally did), then L-ascorbic is the way to go. Just make sure whatever formula you choose it is within the approprate pH range or it will basically be ineffective.
