Re: Anyone here NOT going gray?

Im going to be 65 in a few months. I let my hair go all natural at the end of summer last year and was shocked. My hair is pure silver and brown. It took all of this time to just get used to this and now today when I went to get my hair cut I had some Platinum whispy highlights put in. It looks nice.

Re: Anyone here NOT going gray?

I'm almost 60 and about 20% grey.  The grey strands look like highlights in my light brown hair and actually thicken my thin, fine hair.  I've read that naturally red hair does not grey.  I'm not sure if that's true or not.

Re: Anyone here NOT going gray?

I'm 64 and have almost no gray.  My hair is dark brown and I have a few highlights framing my face that I get 2-3xs a year.  My father really didn't start to go gray until he was well into his 70s.

I'm 62 and only get an occasional gray hair on the left side of my head.  My sister, who's 12 years younger than me, is almost all gray and has been since her early 40's.

Re: Anyone here NOT going gray?

I'll be 83 this coming Sept. If you could see me across the room, you wouldn't see any silver at all.  My hair is dark brown and curly.  I just noticed some silver about a couple years ago. Not really sure why as I don't remember my mom without silver hair. I'm an only child so no siblings. My dad passed at 68 and although he was mostly bald, he did have grey hair at the sides.  Whatever, I kind of like the way my hair looks as it looks like frosting and I don't intend to dye it.

Reddish brown color here.  The same as my Grandmother.  She passed away in her late 70s with only a tiny bit of gray in her waist length hair.

Of her 23 Grands I’m the only one with her hair color, a tiny bit of gray at temples.  Fine with it.

Re: Anyone here NOT going gray?

I have colored my hair - back to its original blonde color-- since I was 16.  I see from the re-growth that I have some sort of salt and pepper thing going on --- LOL!  I feel in reality my hair is now probably totally a very muted kind of very, very light brown or very dark blonde with an equal amount of gray strands through it??  At this point, my plan is to try and let it grow out and not color it.  Luckily, I see that the trend for having darker hair  at the top portion of a person's head and lighter at the bottom portion of a person's head is  a trend of sorts, so I really don't feel too awkward!  In fact, I have actually gotten a few compllments lately on my hair.  Who knew???  Oh, I am close to 67.  DH is the same age and he has hardly any gray at all.

Re: Anyone here NOT going gray?

Almost 60 and my hair is still... brown.  Actually, I like to think of the color as "squirrel."  Mostly brown with some gold, auburn, light-medium-dark brown and now with a variety of what the woman who cuts it calls "sparkles."

I have a few white-grey-silver strands that are showing up and I like to think of them as free highlights.  Hoping they eventually form a dramatic streak.

No intention of coloring or covering the squirrel.

Re: Anyone here NOT going gray?

I will be 47 this year and have no gray hairs that I know of at least.

My mom always colored her hair so she said she has no clue when she actually went gray and my dad started to get gray hairs in his mid 50s so I think my time is coming but I told myself I was NOT going to color my hair until I had to.

I see a lot of fun colors but I'm holding out coloring until I need/want to :-)

Re: Anyone here NOT going gray?

I will be 64 this year, and have been coloring for several years..... I go about 4 months between colorings and it looks like I have highlighted my hair most of the time.

My hairdresser would prefer I did it more often but she sees the top of my head, I don't.....when looking straight into the mirror my hair looks pretty good.  Hair is healthy and when the color starts to wear 'off' I see more grey peeking thru and know it's time for color.

I don't think I am ready to stop coloring.
