Anyone have problems with eyelashes falling out?

Suddenly I have a big gap in my lash line where my lashes have simply fallen out. I'm 51 and not yet menopausal, and I haven't made any changes in my make-up routine recently. Could this be hormonal?

Anyone else have experience with this problem? I sure hope I don't have to start wearing false eyelashes! What a pain!
