Anyone have experience in HSN auto ship

 

Does anyone have any experience with their auto ship products going into an "extended delivery" mode?

 

A few months ago, I ordered the Tweak'd by Nature supersize 2XL shampoo and conditioner in the vanilla waffle.  My last one to be auto shipped on 5/11 is now showing the above referenced delivery.  It also states "backorder".

 

After speaking to CS who was friendly, I was told that there are no more available to ship, but I can wait until August 11 to see if it does.  Does this mean the manufacturer is no longer making them?  If so, then I don't know why they would highly suggest when selling the TSV to order autoship.  He also told me that if one reads the fine print, they can stop the autoship at any time.  I thought it was up to the customer to cancel the auto ship.  

 

If this is how this works in the future, why bother having auto ship.  I asked him if this happens alot and says it can.  While he was a nice person and I didn't yell at him, I let him know that this wasn't a good business practice; his answer was "I understand".

 

If anyone cares to share an opinion, etc., I'm open to read them.  TIA.

@HisElk1 I always purchase AD when possible. It rarely happens that an item cannot ship. There have been several reasons given as to why, item is more difficult to create, company is unable to fulfill the order due to ingredients/parts not available, etc. 

 

I know it can be frustrating when you need or really want an item. However, if you are patient you should be able to get the item eventually. I did have an item permanently cancelled once and it's understandable. The way the world is these days, it's not easy for them to get all the supplies needed to fulfill orders. 

 

This has happened to me with both QVC and HSN, but rarely. Honestly, I can't remember if it was QVC or HSN that completely cancelled my AD but it does say in the fine print they can cancel anytime. I wouldn't let this deter you from purchasing AD in the future if the price is right for you. Like I said, it happened only twice to me and I have a couple dozen items on AD at any given time.

I have been very lucky with Auto Ship on HSN. They can cancel the AS at their discretion. I have had that happen when the price was lowered on the item. Auto ship would have been more. I thought that was good business of them to do that.

 

The other AS I have is Thea Greek Olive oil and it was delayed for awhile. I was notified that it may or may not ship, depending on if they could get it.

 

Well about 3 weeks later it showed up and there was no price increase to the AS  (as it should be) however, the new price for new orders was at least 4 or 5 bucks more.

 

I say go for the AS.

There are still supply chain issues. Some items that use to flow freely are now still difficult to obtain. 


You can see that in changes and substitutions that have been made to some food products. Some things just taste a little differently. I have no doubt it's that same throughout all industries.

 

If the vendor doesn't have available currently there isn't much HSN can do. I'm sure neither company want to have a sale go unfulfilled. I would wait and hope for the best.

I have never had an issue with an auto ship from HSN. They have always fulfilled them and the same with extended delivery and waitlisted items. They have always been great. I cannot say the same for the Q.

I've never had a problem with HSN and autoship.  For this shipment is there another fragrance you would like to try?  I know Tweak'd is very popular and most of us go on AS and I suspect they are having supply issues with this one.

I have done AS a few times with both companies without any problems---right now am doing salmon with QVC--seems to be fine. I also have cancelled AS too without any hang ups--

I would expect that if the item has been discontinued, they would just cancel the AutoShip which is also why they reserve the right to do so at any time.  As long as they aren't doing it every time there's a price increase, I don't see an issue with that policy.

 

I haven't had any problems with Auto-Ship, but I have bought something on Waitlist before which is similar to the issue you're experiencing.  There's no guarantee you will receive the product and if, after a certain amount of time, the product does not become available, they'll simply cancel your order.  You know the timeframe ahead of time.  For me, it was something I wanted, but if it didn't happen, then it wasn't meant to be.  I did eventually get my shoes.

I ordered my first item on HSN a month ago, some sandals. The SAME exact sandals were being sold on QVC for $70, as I was ordering them on HSN for $50. I had already placed the order with QVC before I noticed them on HSN and I couldn't cancel the QVC ones. The HSN sandals were "extended delivery" for weeks, while I received the QVC order just fine.
I get the feeling if the item is sold on both sites, QVC gets the items first.

@HisElk1   I've had one item on AS do this and in the end, it was cancelled. It was the Kosterina Olive Oil set that I LOVED but after 2 shipments, it just stopped with that reason. They still sell the products but no longer in the set that I had ordered. Wasn't happy because the price was amazing and the product is top notch.

 

Other than a few food items that shipped 2-3 days later than normal and had that message, I can't complain when I see it pop up (which is rare).
