I never get any under my eyes, only above. Mind you, I'm not bragging about how long my eyelashes are...they're decent with mascara. I don't like waterproof mascara b/c it's so hard to remove. I've tried powdering my eyelids so they're not oily to no avail.
There are so very few mascaras that don't give me the dreaded 'dots' but none, so far, from the drugstore. I'm using Bare Escentuals Flawless Definition Volumizing mascara right now.
Does anyone else have this problem? What mascara do you have success with?

There is a YouTuber named Kristin Gehm and whenever she does a mascara review or even talks about mascara, this is one of her top priorities, no transfer during the day. Like you, her transfer problem is the top of the eyelid. Happens as it wears during the day, not during application.
Since I don't have this issue I really never pay attention to this aspect of her reviews. Might be worth going through her video list and seeing if you can find mascara reviews or send her a private message on YT. You do need a YT account to send message, don't need a channel, just an account. You can watch videos without an account.

me too
It helps if you apply one coat and let it completely dry for a few minutes and go in for a second coat. Also applying in short strokes help and like others said I just try not to open my eyes wide or look up while it is wet. I also don't buy crazy lengthening mascara to avoid creepy spider eyes.
I like Almay get up and grow mascara waterproof. Bare Minerals back from when she still sold Buxum on the Q was not bad either. I find that one of my Bobbi Brown smudges and feels crusty when it dries the other BB I have is fine but it doesn't wear as well as the Almay.

Nope, this doesn't happen after application...I'd clean it up immediately and go about my day! This is always halfway thru the day when I notice them appear. I know enough to not look up after I apply it. And I only use one coat so reapplication is not an issue as they never get that thick, gloppy look or spidery eyes.
But I will be checking out the Nars product (thanks Happy2!) and also Kristin Gehm on YT (thank you Lulu!).
I recently re-tried the Tova mascara as I always had good luck with the older formulation. But even that didn't work, I had the dots about 5 hrs later.
I'll keep watching to see what other suggestions are posted, though.
TIA

I swear by Maybelline Waterproof. It never goes anywhere EXCEpt sometimes on my top above my eyes. It's a pet peeve that my daughters drive me crazy reminding me about. It's always in the summer time.
It never gets anywhere else and otherwise stays on my lashes. I don't know what causes it. It isn't transferrance because I use a Q tip to clean up everything. It only happens when I get overheated.
Anyway, I'm interested in why this only happens there too.

I know this might seem odd but, try applying mascara to your lower lashes first. Then apply to the upper ones. The "dots" appear when you've done your upper lashes first and they're still wet when you try to apply to the lower ones. Hope this helps.
