Anyone Old Enough to Remember this makeup fad ?

A dot of black eyeliner on the side of your face for a beauty mark to emulate the beautiful Miss Kitty from Gunsmoke ?

@PhilaLady1----OF COURSE!!!  Did it myself, not because of Miss Kitty.  Movie stars did it.---------tedEbear

I actually had a "beauty mark" without using eyeliner, but it was better known as a mole and I had the derm do some surgery on it a couple of years ago.  LOL

Well, I learned something today. Thank you. I was a kid in the 60's and for whatever reason I always assumed it was because Miss Kitty. Did not know there were other famous people doing it.

I remember Miss Kitty because we watched Gunsmoke faithfully.  When the series began on tv, I was certainly too young for make-up of any kind.  In later years, it never would have occurred to me to place a fake "beauty mark" on my face & I don't recall it being a fad with my peers.

OMG.  Yes, it was when I was in HS, I think.  It had to be either under your eye or right next to your mouth.  I'm glad I didn't have one.......probably would have been full blown skin cancer by now!  Woman Surprised

I was a kid in the 60's but don't remember that one.  My mom wouldn't have allowed me to do it anyhow.  Couldn't wear make up until 1969.
