I have below my shoulder hair and I was thinking about doing just a few chunks in a fashion color (such as teal/dark purple). I thought I would ask if any of you had suggestions on a product or experience doing this.
While this style may not suit everyone, I was thinking it might be fun for a little while in a non/semi permanent format.
I may not have the terminology correct, but I am thinking more than the chalk/mascara type applications that last one washing to something that would fade/wash out in a month or so.
Thank you for your recommendations.

I hope you find something you like. Go for it! I would like to go with pink or purple hair, but don't have the nerve to do it. LOL

Manic panic, but it's just vegetable dye and if you want the true color you need to start with white hair, which is why they sell bleach kits.

I believe Sallys sells clip-on peekaboo highlights or peekaboo extensions in pink, purple, blue and other colors.
you could have peekaboo highlights done too, underneath the top layer for a subtle effect.

There are 2 really good ones at Sallys or CVS. One is Jason or something like that. There is Splatt. They work and are great colors. I have not used them but grands have in a pinch. I have a wholesale cosmetology license so I usually get these things from there. But if you want a streak, the drug store ones work well.
A word of caution. Although many of these colors SAY they are temporary, ahem....they can stain like crazy IF you have colored, bleached or blonde hair. I think they are good to go on brunettes and black hair.. May take a month or two, but hey, by then you may want another color. Stay away from green if possible. Worst staining possibilities!
I am glad you are having fun with your hair. Life is short. Be happy! Have fun!

That is a fabulous idea! I never thought of that. Are you saying to put in extension over a highlight, or color? I like that. Purple with lavender, would be my choice if I had hair anymore, and if I had dark hair like brunette. Red dye with pink or lavendar?

yes... you could play around with different colors. there are a couple of youtube videos showing this! my 30yr old self would say go for it! I used to use a temp hair color that made my hair a bright cherry red! then I just used the red underneath on the ends in chunky sections and had it peeking out from dark auburn loved that look! I had a bi-level cut back then.

I am thinking of the "peek-a-boo" just a few chunks under my hair, perhaps kind of behind my ear. Does that make sense? For example, if I pulled the front part back from my face, it would show. (Sorry, wish I could give a better description)
My natural hair color is lightish/medium brown with a heavy dose of grey. It is uncolored. Now let's see if I am brave enough! I think if I do it I will start with a pretty small section.
Thanks for all of the good advice!
