Re: Any Women of Color WEN Users Out There?

Hello, fellow Wen-Sistas I am AA, I love the fig, I did buy the TT for my husband who has scalp issues......But I don't know if my hair like it TT yet... I will see. I was natural for 2 years, but I wore my hair underneath those wigs. I think alot of use AA wear Wigs, and weaves, because we couldn't manage our own hair..{#emotions_dlg.crying}. I know for me, it was a lot easier to just put a wig on it. But like everyone , I was looking at Chaz and like really, could I really have hair like that.....really...... Wen has change my mind about my own hair, I am in love with my own hair.... My husband said, "that my hair looks better than my wigs"... I said "you know what.....IT DOES!!!!" I also think that we are all naturals because we are choosing to wear our own hair, and not someone else.... I think that wen has change my hair for good, now, I still use my flat iron, but my hair is not damage and it is sooo shinny, I don't need oil sheen or lotion.... I have 613, and that thing right here..... is the truth!!!!!!!! {#emotions_dlg.tt1}I have it on AD and if he put it in a gallon, I will buy it.... I love it, It makes my hair move. I was at church and I was looking at other people hair and they hair was stiff and lay down. And I'm walking my hair was moving sooo much , It started Greeting people..lol (like Hello , I am Starsha's hair){#emotions_dlg.lol} .But Is beautiful to see all the ladies in here, that made the change to try it on our own hair......All of us can't be wrong......

Re: Any Women of Color WEN Users Out There?

FYI, I came across some hair care information Chaz shared in an older post. Here's a hot link to it:

Question about Chaz Dean Video

Chaz recommends a certain brush and hair dryer. From the above thread:

"The blow-dryer the stylist uses is a RUSK Speed Freak® Professional 2000-Watt Ceramic Dryer. This is his preferred blow-dryer when blow-drying both Katia and Alisha. As for the setting,? full heat and full power!"

"I know that he recommends a Spornette brush (but says any brand of boar's hair brush is ok as long as it has a wooden handle - not metal) and that he says you need to use the nozzle on your dryer in order to keep the heat away from your hair, but I don't remember the brand of hair dryer that he uses."

"I don't know either, but while watching a video yesterday, he said to always use the nozzle and never use a roll brush that has metal on it."

Whoops! Sorry DrCEB. Her name is Teri LaFlesh, author of Curly Like Me. I have no idea why I wrote Nikkie. If you came across the plethora of info on YouTube, you probably saw her videos. (Had a bit of brain fog I guess.) You can type in her name or "natural hair" or any number of related subjects and find kindred spirits, serious about staying natural, providing some good information. Also, I've noticed that the trend has caught on everywhere. Most of the advertisements on TV and in magazines these days feature AA women with natural hair. I hope it's not just a trend. This is the way it should be.

Hi Happy, I just wanted to say TY, I found the page. I hope/think it's more than a trend, too. There are so many prominently placed products out there for it to be only a trend!?!{#emotions_dlg.blink} {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Thanks to everyone who has been putting such great information, providing dialogue and thought provoking ( and sometimes hilarious) discussion. I just got my TT TSV yesterday. I can't wait to try it with all the tips you have given! I was going to do it last night but, family emergency/urgency stopped that. Hopefully, tonight is the night! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}Wish me luck!

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! I'M SOO EXCITED! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup} TRY TT ALL BY ITSELF FIRST. OR, DO A BLEND OF TT AND 613. OR, DO ALL 613?{#emotions_dlg.blink}

Re: Any Women of Color WEN Users Out There?

When I get new Wen products, I will do one cleanse session with one CC for everything. Then, after seeing those results, I'll see how to tweak it if needed.

Keep in mind, 613 is heavy on protein. When I used it in the above manner several consecutive washes, my hair was very close to brittle (protein overload).

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.
