I posted recently, "is Retinol enough"? I received great information and now I have another concern. In the past I had not used Retinol consistently but purchased PTR's Retinol TSV. I applied and expected a "miracle" in the morning but, see more wrinkles under my eyes than before I applied the eye retinol. I used the night cream and added a bit of oil to avoid any dryness but eeeks....my eye area looks worse. Should I give this product more time to see results or call it quits?

@shy bobcat I'm not sure why you expected retinol to work overnight or even just in a night or two as it is actually a product that you have to give it alot of time before you even begin to see results- several weeks, if not months, definitely not just a few days.

The retinol products that my Dermotologist recommended said don't use it under the eye because it is too strong. Am wondering if what you have should be used on delicate under eye skin.

@shy bobcat, I've had the exact same thing happen to me when using ROC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream. It made my under eye skin look even more wrinkled that it was before using it. When I used it every night, the formulation irritated my under eye skin too much and I experienced some flaking and peeling. I cut back to using it two to three times/week but still didn't think it was the best formulation for me and switched to another retinol product.
Retinol is a long term use product and you cannot expect overnight improvement. It's not an instant miracle ingredient. You may not see any noticeable results for weeks because it works even more slowly than tretinoin (Retin-A).
The formulation of the PTR retinol eye cream may not be the right formulation for your skin just as I came to the conclusion that the ROC retinol eye cream wasn't the best formulation for my skin. I've had good luck so far with ASDM Beverly Hills Retinol Complex Serum under my eyes and on my face. It has a non-greasy creamy texture, not a watery serum texture, plus it has hyaluronic acid, ceramide 3, Vit. E and silk peptides in it which seem to agree with my under eye skin and facial skin more than the ROC retinol products.
It's trial and error with retinol products and if the PTR retinol eye product makes your under eye look worse with continued use, it may be time to look for another retinol eye product.

@shy bobcat, I agree with @happydayz, it's going to take some time to see the differences in your skin. A year ago, I read Angie of Hot N Flashy's blog where she showed the changes in her eyes by using Retin A. It was eye opening in that it really opened up her eyes, the hooded lid and minimized her fine lines. She just did a three year comparison. Here's the link:
http://www.hotandflashy50.com/retin-a-for-wrinkles-3-year-results-before-after/
She also does Youtube videos and had a Youtube video of her changes as well. Redbook also did an article over a year ago and they showed significant changes in the eye area after using PTR's retinol for 6 weeks. I would put it on all over the eye including the lid, wait a few minutes and then add a very emollient eye cream over top. Please write back and let us know how it goes.

Ladies, thank you very much. It seems that I need to be more patient with results and to "listen" to my skin as well. I have an event coming up and want to look my best sooner rather than later, kinda of like weight loss.
