If this is true about korres no longer affilliated with Johnson and Johnson I will be super happy. I love Korres body butters and so does my mom.

Have you actually spoken to cutomer srevice? This ia awesome news as i very regretfully dropped Korres a couple of years ago when I learned about J & J.

PLEASE let us know what you find out. I don't trust a blogger for facts, lol. I am going to try to find out what I can too. Having to give up Korres body butters was a huge deal for me so I too would love if this were true and go back to them but I am skeptical. It would seem that Korres would blast that all over their FB and website if they did, knowing how many people are upset since they became affiliated with J&J.

I spent a great deal of time yesterday (perhaps too much time!!!) researching this and here's what I found -

Yes, Caudalie has just been dropped from the cruelty-free list since they now sell in China. Disappointing because I just bought a bunch of stuff on Black Fri and will now return. Caudalie's website states quite clearly that they do not test on animals so they need to revise.

Korres has just been re-instated as cruelty-free. They no longer sell in China and just recently severed their ties to J&J. Yeah - I will return to using their stuff.

Clarins also sells in China (in fact, they have a plant in China!) so they're on the list. Won't repurchase when I use up my items.

So far, I haven't been able to verify the status of Crabtree & Evelyn. Also couldn't find Perlier listed anywhere. And I emailed Dr. Denese yesterday about her status. Even though she states no animal testing, I couldn't find her listed on Leaping Bunny or any other site I Visited.

Sure HD, there probably are bloggers out there that may not be trustworthy. I've never gotten the impression, from the ones that I've come to trust, that they aren't entitled to that trust. After all, the one's that I mentioned are doing what they do to be a voice for animals and their protection. Their passions are evident.

To question their motives or their information would imply that they are either fabricating or passing along false information. How would that benefit the blogger? Some could say that that type of behavior might be more typical of a company protecting themselves, then it would a blogger who is passionate about the protection of animals.

I don't doubt what these bloggers post, because I've been shown no reason to doubt. Are they an only source?, that depends. Sure there's room for human error, and they may not be minute by minute up to date, but when they quote correspondences from questioned companies, then the informational responsibilities fall onto the company, which I may be more apt to doubt and ultimately, theirs is the word that we either choose to believe, or not.

Can you tell me where you found this information besides the blogger's site? I was researching a little too and found no real credible evidence to support this, outside of one blogger's site. Like I said, it seems like Korres would do a press release or something about it since so many people were up in arms on their FB page when they became affiliated with J&J. I am super excited if this is true and I know my mom has been wanting some of the BB's for Christmas.

From Korres customer service, still selling in China, "they are trying to change the policies and will try not to market any new products at this time". Not good enough for me, just like Isomers. They have a store listed in Hong Kong on their website. Korres did cease their relationship with J & J but that may have just been a business maneuver.

okay well bummer. I am glad they severed ties but, like you said, it was probably a business decision based on $$$ and not due to the animal testing since they are still selling in China and testing. Looks like Mom gets Jouer and L'antica famicista body butters/lotions instead. Smiley Happy

There is a part in the Chinese regulations that allows companies to circumvent the animal testing if they can provide scientific evidence that their products are safe. Isomers said that they took this route and therefore are not required to test on animals. It is an expensive process and that is why most companies don't opt for this route but Isomers has stated emphatically they've done this but, of course it is your prerogative to decide if you believe them or not. But the part about China having a way that companies can circumvent animal testing IS a fact and you can find that in their regulations. It is something they recently added.

ETA: I don't use Isomers so I don't really have a vested interest in believing them but I am taking their word on this one since they were not vague and didn't use slight of hand wording like so many others do.

Thanks for the update.

These mass corporate changes take time. With the number if products that are already made and stocked, either here or abroad, it will take quite a bit of time to clear. Hopefully, this means a positive move on the right direction, more than some of the other companies have shown.

Glad they cut ties with J & J. Will they negotiate with another company? As with a lot of things, we'll have to wait and see.

Oh gosh I don't want to bash Chaz since I know that he has a huge following here. But I question - he strongly advocates anti-animal-cruelty with his products. Yet, he also frequently tells us that he uses PTR's UnWrinkle. Isn't that contradictory?
