Re: Animal Testing Report Card

I heard Manuela say they don't and never have tested on animals. She's the owner, she should know what she tests on-Paula should recheck her results.

This is kind of a good start.

However, for "purists" like myself, lol, that are trying not to line the pockets of parent corporations who DO test, then please don't rely solely on this list. Many of the brands on her list, unfortunately, are owned by these types of parent companies.

Hi HappyDaze - is there a reliable list you use to determine the truly cruelty free companies? I agree completely about not lining the pockets of the big parent companies.{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown} Some of the brands I used to use (like Urban Decay) used to be cruelty-free, but I won't use them anymore. It is really frustrating.

Re: Animal Testing Report Card

Thanks for the New Discussion and the info. I had started a Discussion a few days ago on this very topic. It is Disgusting, Tragic and NOT Necessary! I WILL NOT knowingly buy anything that has ANYTHING to do with Animals. I have actually thought about calling in on QVC when one of these Vendors are on, such as IT, and ask them point blank, "does your company do animal testing?". Wonder how that would go over!! Thanks again for the Info.

I emailed the company about this about a month ago and felt good about the response I got. They said that their products were not tested on animals in order to be sold in China. Their products passed China's requirements. Based on some information someone posted on here, there ate some instances where new products may not have to be animal tested.

In 2012, the Chinese began approving products if the submitted items used ingredients already approved, in %s no higher than amounts already allowed. There is a company, Chemical Inspection and Regulation Service that helps with this process. Their website is very dense with info.

As Marc Bower has said many times.....with today's technology.....there is no excuse for animal testing.....

so very true (although I don't know who Marc Bower is, lol)! Smiley Happy And time and time again it has been shown that animal models aren't even a good indicator of how something is going to work or react on a human for a variety of reasons I won't get into here. Smiley Happy Also, there even if it doesn't produce nasty side affects or reactions certainly does not mean it won't on humans as well, and we have often found out that the hard way.

Marc Bower is a successful clothing designer who not long ago launched a cosmetic line. IDK about his cosmetics but I like his designs a lot. At one point, he presented a lower end line on Q simply called Marc.
