so very true (although I don't know who Marc Bower is, lol)! Smiley Happy And time and time again it has been shown that animal models aren't even a good indicator of how something is going to work or react on a human for a variety of reasons I won't get into here. Smiley Happy Also, there even if it doesn't produce nasty side affects or reactions certainly does not mean it won't on humans as well, and we have often found out that the hard way.

I wish QVC would be more open and honest about which beauty products test on animals and use animal derived byproducts, so those of us who respect the lives of little creatures can purchase with confidence. Have ended up buying, then tossing, products since it SEEMED to be okay on air, but in fact was not (like IT cosmetics)

This is kind of a good start.

However, for "purists" like myself, lol, that are trying not to line the pockets of parent corporations who DO test, then please don't rely solely on this list. Many of the brands on her list, unfortunately, are owned by these types of parent companies.

Too true. I just learned a wonderful local vitamin/supplement/health store mini-chain sold to a large corporation. The always say they're not going to change anything, but they don't care about my health, my skin care, the well being of my pet (in the case of pet foods, obviously) -- they only care about showing a profit to the shareholders. :-(

Maren, aren't you looking at getting the BE serum foundation? Do you realize that Shiseido owns BE and they are one of the worst in terms of animal testing?

None whatsoever. They test because they want to. They are not required to. My heart is broken seeing so many testing that I have loved. But I must stand by my convictions.

Thanks for the info! I am only using products not tested on animals. I will use Josie Maran and other companies that don't test. I just cancelled my order for the BE new foundation serum cause they test. THanks again.

It's not just animal testing but it's also animal products and by products I do not want in my skin care or makeup.

I agree. It's amazing when I think about it, so much of what we do is based on animals. Food, mu, coats, testing of medications, etc. As far as beauty, I don't think animals were put on earth so we can inject harmful chemicals in their eyes so we then can apply goop to our faces. I agree with Marc Bower, there is no need for animal testing with all this technology.
