I am on my second bar and recently purchased the new peppermint scent.  Have not use it but smells very nice...very mild.  BUT  the big surprise is this;  yesterday I decided to shampoo my hair with it since It got so many postive reviews as a shampoo.  I am shocked at how wonderful it turned out!  My hair feels clean, shiney and very soft without being weighed down at all!  This is my day 2 hair and it still looks great.  My hair is chin length,  fine, thinning, and I do have an oily scalp.  I have so far no scalp itching at all.  I am very pleased to say the least.  Another tip- I only shampood one time (it lathers well) and then used a peas size drop of WEN as a leave in.  Try it!!!

When we travel we just take this bar and use it hair and body.  Works great.  I have curly hair and I love how clean it rinses.

Thanks @bargainsgirl . I never thought to use it as a shampoo. Although, I'm a little hesitant as my hair texture seems very different than yours. I have longer, very thick, dry, curly, color treated hair. I may try it though sometime. I bought the larger pack so I have enough to last me a year. Woman Happy

I bought the 12 pk of the original plus the 12 pk of the mint. I really like it since it doesn't leave my skin dry.

I didn't like it in my hair. It left my hair feeling coated which I can't deal with. I tried it again with apple cider vinegar rinse to cut it but that didn't work. Day after I washed it my hair looked pretty good but the following day I couldn't wait to wash my hair.

I use a washcloth or salux cloth with it when I shower. I can't get it off my skin with just a rinse. Still feels like it's on my skin?

I have been using homemade soaps for 40 years. I tried some shower gels during this time but always went back to the homemade soap. It leaves my skin soft.

I have been washing my face with it which I really like.

I will try again on my hair using less of it. Didn't think I used enough to begin with?

Yes all hair is so different.  It just works for me.  Tamed the fizz a bit too.

For me that did not work.. Made my hair feel totally dried out.  I do not use Philos any longer but I think they do have wonderful scents.   Funny how all hair reacts differently!

I LOVE Andrew Lessman's products and trust him and the research behind them.  I've been taking his vitamins non stop since he first appeared on QVC over 30 years ago.  When he left the Q,  I just purchased directly from him.

This is the one product,   unfortunately, that I had to send back.  I just could not tolerate the smell.  To me it smelled rancid.  As we know,  we're all different!

Enjoy if you like it.  I wish I did,  but my nose tells me otherwise!!!

For anyone who knows .... what makes the AL soap so special?  Is it similar to the Beekman bars?

If I pick up Andrew's soap, will try in hair.  Thanks for the review. I use his vitamins and just got his Secure Meal Replacement powder in chocolate.  It tastes good and is filling.
