Why doesn't Amy use proper names when addressing others???   "LOR"  "JACK" "DEE" is what I heard tonight for "LORI" JACKIE" AND "DEANA"....   sounds really tacky and immature.   Can we bring back some professionalism to PM Style please??

The thing that I've noticed on more than one occasion...several times...is that she will sometimes refer to Lori as "Laura".  I've even heard her say it two or three times within a few minutes and then later refer to her as "Lori."  That's just hard to figure out!!  The first time I heard her do it, I thought, "Bless her heart; she doesn't know her name."  Then she later switched to calling her "Lori."  The very next week....the same thing.  It keeps happening.  I can't figure it out!  I even DVR'd it one time to make sure I was hearing correctly.

Re: Amy addressing people

[ Edited ]

When I see posts on forums and social media sites about "professionalism" I often wonder what that vision is that's apparently stamped now & forever for some.  QVC has moved away from what I used to think were stuffy, boring sets & presentations, and have at least tried to create a more relaxed, inviting image of itself.  Amy has said many times before that she thinks of her shows as a few friends who really enjoy shopping.  If the vendors and models don't mind Amy's names for them, why should anyone else?

OK I 'm on vacation and I left my "Authorized Professional Code Manual For TV Sales Channel Sellers Including But Not Limited To Dress, Speech, Gestures, Mannerisms, Height, vol 2a" home! (Slapping forehead in annoyance at myself!)!

Will someone grab your copy and let us all know EXACTLY what we should be demanding from our hosts, please?

This insolent and capricious use of nicknames MUST BE NIPPED IN THE BUD!!!!

By the way, please be sure you are using the CURRENT APCMFTVSCSIBNLTDSGMH, v2, NOT prior versions. Updates available online.

I'm not sure when it became unprofessional to shorten someone's name.  It's not like she's calling her some cutesy little nickname.

it is create a climate of friendliness and family.  They want us to think they are all just one big happy family and calling each other nicknames is part of that environment.  You  know, like you might call your best friend a nickname.
