I was hoping to purchase some Amazing Grace perfume again.  I first used it maybe 5-6 years ago and then just began using the body cream.  Well after reading reviews,  I have my doubts on weather to buy it again.  Is it really that bad now?  Such a shame cause it was a great fragrance.  I have a hard time with so many because they cause headaches.

Anyone have any tips for Guerlain perfumes?  I am concerned they will be too strong for me.

Thanks!

Amazing Grace has always been a soft scent.  It may have changed a bit since the original, but to me it still smells very much like it always has. Some of the newer body creams (the butters and souffles) don't seem to hold the scent like the original Firming Emulsion (lotion).  I would say if you are looking to return to Amazing race after taking a break from it, why not go to one of the department stores, Ulta or Sephora where Philosophy is sold and put some on yourself.

As for Guerlain fragrances, the only one I have ever used is Shalimar and it didn't work well on me. I would say that most of the Guerlain fragrances are going to be like a lot of French scents and lean toward having a strong presence.

My good girlfriend who has been using Amazing Grace for many years, still buys it and uses it. In fact I tease her that she is going through it like water......She does layer though, shower gel, lotion, and then spray..She always has a little purse spray and uses that when she doesn't smell it on herself anymore, but I told her other people still smell it on you....I think it smells so good!

I've worn Amazing Grace for 15 years. Since I first saw it. I love the spritz and some fragrance on top. I've added a bit Pure Grace periodically recently but I love it. I really like the EDP if you want more fragrance. I hate a strong fragrance so this is perfect.

I love the smell of Amazing Grace but found that even when I layer it, it doesn't last for more than a half an hour. I can't see spending that kind of money and getting nothing in return for it!!  I buy it for my mother as she will only wear soft scents and I never smell it on her either.  I went to a place online called Bulk Apothocary and bought a small jar of their Amazing Grace  dupe in an oil.  I am really liking it.

I was gifted 3 bottles for Xmas. I can't smell them at all. It's not rocket science, I wonder why they don't fix it. I really used to love it. I wore it for years.

I just purchased a bottle for my mom.  It's always been soft and I can smell it on her.  I've not seen any change in formula in any of the Philosophy fragrances.

It is so sad. This fragrance used to be heavenly. Now it is all alcohol. I just threw out  a nearly full bottle of Amazing Grace AND one of Pure Grace. Both smelled like bug spray after only a month or so. They used to last for years! I am done with Philosophy fragrances. Coty has ruined them.

I've been a fan of Amazing Grace for years and still wear it to this day.  A few months ago, I purchased the Spritz and Glimmer Lotion from QVC.  I purchased the fragrance spray from Ebay.  Last week I wore the spritz on my body and sprayed the fragrance on a sweater I was wearing that day.  I just pulled the sweater out of the laundry basket today and to my delight, I could smell the wonderful scent of Amazing Grace!

I've experienced the same thing with Philosophy, also with my favorite ESTEE's ESTEE (been wearing Estee's Pure Fragrance Spray for over 35 years... I'm extremely familiar with it and it changed considerably) and everyone's complained about TOVA (same thing).  I've also recentlyh chosen a Chanel scent and the same thing happened!  I then learned that something has happened within the perfume industry regarding the oils and that's where you get lasting scent.  I've been trying to find out what happened, but I've been unable to.....

So I honestly don't believe it's one or two manufacturers, I believe something fundamental has changed in the perfume industry.  And until I understand what that is, I refused to invest in an expensive cologne/perfume .... from anywhere....
