@Jordan2- yes, I think you are unnecessarily much  too sensitive. 

 

If he's selling "products", would you expect him to say "..... But you can do just as good a job with Lady Clairol"?

 

And the term "... looks cheap..." means absolutely NOTHING. What visual characteristics does the word "cheap" have? NONE.

 

"Dimitri" (I have no idea who he is, by the way) has no personal responsibility to you to spare your feelings. His job is to sell lots and lots of his hair goop. He has no idea how you look or how you make your money or how you spend it, nor does he care.

 

I would guess that if you color your hair yourself you've tried several products, narrowed your choices down to the product or product that suits you best, and usually are satisfied with your results.

 

I'm pretty sure I'd be much closer to reality than "Dmitrionthetelevisionsellinghairgoop".
