Has anyone used an OTC lotion/potion for age spots on hands that worked for you? Mine are getting 'out of hand' !! Thanks.

Yes, the Joan Rivers' hand cream - but it was discontinued several years ago. Boohoo. Some ladies on this board swear by Nandina (sp?) 4% Hydroquinone sold at Walmarts everywhere - it did nothing for me.
I read in a magazine that pure lemon juice lightens skin so I buy the RealLemon bottled 100% lemon juice at my neighborhood Kroger and dot it on dark spots on my face and hands once a day. It has helped.
Also, shea butter is supposed to prevent dark spots - or so I've read. I use the BBW shea butters on my body and hands and haven't had any new or expanding dark spots on my hands since I've been using it daily. (I have 2 dark spots on the back of my right hand that I've been fighting for years - none on my left hand yet)

For me glycolic acid has worked very well at diminishing brown spots, whether on my face or on other places like my hands and arms. This Glycolix product has been in my beauty arsenal for many years and I believe it is the best for fading my spots. You get 60 pads for about $25 from skinmedix dot com, always free shipping with no minimum order. If the product is out of stock, then get on their wait list...it comes back rather quickly. Good luck.

Pond's makes an inexpensive moisturizer in two formulas: Normal to Dry and Normal to Oily.

I accidentally found L'Occitane Ultra Riche Hand and Body Wash to be amazing for getting rid of and fading brown spots. I wanted something mild for a hand wash and tried this product. After using for a few months I noticed a large brown spot faded so much that I could hardly see it. As time went on other brown spots began to fade. My hands look really good.

Thanks for the replies. I remember Joan Rivers talking about her product back when. For now, I think I'll try the lemon juice. Thanks ladies. Have a good weekend!!

Hydroquinone is the gold standard for fading age spots. Walmart carries Ambi Fading Cream as well as Nadinola. I've tried both. Nadinola is 3% hydroquinone and Ambi is 2%. Right now I'm using Nadinola and mix it with hand cream at night and put on my hands. It does takes month for any to fade and you must be sure you use sunscreen on your hands at all times or they will come back.

Avon's Banishing Cream ... use it morning and evening ... it works, but you have to use it consistently.

You can speed up the fading process by mixing in just a little bit of glycolic acid with hydroquinone, but take it very slow other wise it could burn the skin when used together. Remember if you use hydroquinine, use it steadily for 3 months, then stop.

I think I read that hydroquinone is a carcinogen. You might want to google it.
