NANA SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO True, back in the day I wished the hair on my head would grow as fast as the hair on my chin.

For years I have rerfused to use Premarin Cream, it is classified by he FDA as a topical drug, but a small amount is secreted into the bloodstream even says that on the website. i dont even want a small amount of it in my body, too afraid of breast cancer. And the fact that it is made from the urine of pregnant mares, that alone makes me sick.

I have been taking Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil softgels since 2011, and I feel I get good results, not like with estrogen, but  much more safely. Read about Sea Buckthorn Omega 7 Berry oil, it promotes moisture from within. Also good for dry eye and many other things.

@SurferWife  Once I fell asleep, I would wake up sweating and then get the chills every night and I needed to go to work in the morning.  We are our hormones and you realize that when menopause starts.

Other ladies told me their leg hair stopped growing after menopause, so I was hopeful.  But that didn't happen to me.  At age 71,  I still have shave my legs every danged day in the summer and also have to tweeze or shave my chin and upper lip every day.  I'd look like Bigfoot if I didn't shave - and that includes my face.  And I haven't even mentioned my runaway eye brows......they have a life of their own!   Ugh.

I'm curious...how long did menopause last for y'all?  I've read on line the average length is 7 years.  As you can imagine, my response was, "OH, HELL NO!"  Then my puppy woke up from his nap to let me know I disturbed him.

My mother took Premarin for years. She had a hysterectomy after she had me. She died of breast cancer. I will not be taking hormones. I'm 53 and still waiting for menopause.

Re: After Menopause

[ Edited ]

I personally didn't think going through the experience was all that bad, just another part of life to accept and deal with.  I had a hysterectomy (complete) when I was 56 and it was a breeze. I did not go on any HRT.  I have experienced some of the typical "side effects" of aging, but it's part of the process.

Last year (June) I took responsibility and chose a new way of eating and what supplements I take.  In 12.5 months, I've lost 100 lbs.  I'm thrilled with the loss, but the health improvements have been amazing.  Shopping for new clothes every few months has been fun too!

Menopause was really pretty easy for me. I did not have the usual side affects so I feel blessed for that. I have always exercised so I do think that helped ease through the process. I still work hard to keep my weight down but if I didn't I could gain weight pretty quickly. My hair and skin are drier but I have always had dry skin. So I just up my hydrating producs. Other than that I have no complaints. I still sleep good. Oh one thing to mention is that even though I exercise a lot I don't have those flat abs that I used to have.
