My son went on Accutane for 6 months and it totally destroyed his immune system and he also now has Crohns.

That being said, if you truly went through everything but and being acne free is that important to your daughter then maybe it would be worth the risks.

DS did one course of Accutane when he was in high school (15 yrs ago) . I had read stuff and was very reluctant to let him take it but I am so glad that I did. One course was all it took. He did have dry lips/skin that they had warned us about and I do recall the dermo doing routine blood tests but all in all, it was a positive experience for us. I do recall his acne getting worse before it got better, but the dermo had warned us of that, too. DD had some girlfriends on it a the same time, and it sounds like taking bc pills with Accutane was the norm, at least it was back then. One of her friends got remarkable improvement with Accutane.
