??? About Ulta's The Glamorous Life Kit

So...I was eyeballing this today on my trip to Ulta.

I'm very pale, was wondering if anyone had tried the Brightening Gold Mineral Veil? I just feel so BLAH this time of year because I'm so fair, so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this, if it's good for pale skin?

Also, the Mirrored compact - um, how does that thing work?? I don't get it! It's got this weird metal thing on the underside...
