I guess I'm not using Josie Maran's Argan Oil quick enough because the oil that remains inside the dropper turns black and slimey. The oil inside the bottle doesn't smell rancid or look bad it's just inside the dropper. I keep the bottle on my dresser. Does anyone else have this problem?

Nope never had it happen and I have bottles that are a couple years old.

That is really weird because I too have had bottles for a while and have never had an issue. Sorry, no help.

I third that. I've had bottles for a long time and never had it happen. Try keeping them out of extreme heat or light. Then they last for ages.

I have a travel size bottle that I have had for over 6 months with no problems and it's Josie's.

No, and I've had several bottles of it and some I didn't use up right away.

I have used oils for my skin care on and off for probably 12 years. First started using Rose Hip Seed Oil, now, I primarily use Argan. I currently use JM's Argan, but there are many others that are great, too. And I have NEVER had anything "black and slimy" in my droppers. Never ever ever. In fact, I think I still have some old RHS oil (like I wouldn't use it old) in my stash and although I need to toss it, it doesn't LOOK weird or gross AT ALL. The only thing I would imagine that would cause this is an extreme change in temp or humidity. OR if you live in an extremely humid climate.

I've noticed products that are organic do not have the shelf life that others do, also your product may have been contaminated in some way.

What does rancid smell like.

I had this happen once with a different oil from STO. From what I could tell, the black stopper part was actually deteriorating and getting down in the dropper, thus the black slime in the dropper tube. Take a look at the underside of the dropper handle and feel if some black comes away.
