@Shanus, Could I please ask you what Vitamin C serum you like? Remember some of your comments on Skinceuticals.. Is that still what you like or is there a more reasonable option? I have dry, sensitive skin.. Have used CE Feurilic w/ B5 Gel in the past. Would Love to find a nice more reasonable, comfortable Vit C Serum and Rich Soothing moisturizer. Thanks in advance... 😊 Always appreciate your thoughts, insights!

@classyangel   Hello. I'm now using The Ordinary Vit.C serum. The Skinceuticals C E Feurulic is the gold standard, but at $166 and climbing, I changed serums. I see no difference.

I'm experimenting now with Kiehl's moisturizer (Super Multi-Corrective Cream) and their  Avocado Eye Cream. That moisturizer is quite hydrating and am liking it so far. I'm thinking it may be too heavy for summer, but Kiehl's has others that are lighter to choose from.

Hi @Shanus !

I have a question about serums. I just started using one this year - Josie Maran's Resurfacing serum. I do like it, and I wear it overnight.

In the morning I wear Josie's milk. I do notice a softening of my skin. I do have wrinkles, but they're not bothering me yet!

Can you wear makeup on top of serum?

Last weekend I picked up a Josie kit at Sephora. Josie's Vitamin C was in it. Should I be using these along the Resurfacing serum? @classyangel 's post reminded me to ask about this.

Thank you once again @Shanus for everything you do to help everyone here!  Smiley Happy

Good morning @beach-mom . I can't help you with JM's products since I don't use them...never have. Serums go on cleansed skin, then moisturizer (if needed) and then SPF and of course foundation or a tinted moisturizer can be worn on top.

I only use one serum...The Ordinary Vit. C serum. I'm not familiar with her resurfacing serum, but if it has exfoliating properties, I'm not not sure you need two serums, especially if your other skincare has active ingredients (day or night). I always believe less is more in skincare.

@Shanus  Thank you for your time!  Yesterday had some medical tests right next door to Ulta, so I stopped in.  She swatched some reds on me (for example, Nars Cruella, & Dragon Lady) & they both pull fuchsia on me. Both pretty but I was hunting for red.  How strange, idk why that is happening?  She found one by Too Faced named Lady Bold that is a true red on me. It will no doubt last my lifetime since I don't wear red often but definitely want to this holiday season.

Never thought to use one of my many nude liners.  That's why you're appreciated here, you give options as a makeup expert that I wouldn't have considered Heart Thank you!

@beach-mom - hope @Shanus doesn't mind me chiming in.  Just want to let you know that I used JM's resurfacing serum at night and then her Vit C in the morning and had no problem with putting make up over the Vit C.  I did follow the Vit C with a moisutrizer.  Anyway, just wanted to chime in as I had tried the products and thought it might help to hear what I did.

@RooRoo   Have you checked out MAC Ruby Woo? It's a true red. It's used in fashion shows where models have many different skin tones, but this red works. Let me know what you think.

@Shanus  Thanks for the recommendation, I've never tried the Ruby Woo.  I have at least 3 red lipsticks & was just looking for a lip liner since I was practicing my "holiday" look & didn't know to use a nude, LOL.  In the summer I do like a sheer reddish lip gel when I have color & enjoy Nudestix Sangria. I don't need a liner for that.  My skin tone is similar to a lighter JLO with same type hair color (for now) and need color to wake me up, LOL  I think I am set for now!  I hope you have a great day Smiley Wink

@Shanus  I know this thread is old, but if you have a minute, I'd like your advice, please?  I want to know whether there is a "universal" lip liner for red lipsticks or if I have to choose either a blue tone/orange tone for specific lipsticks? I don't usually wear red & not sure what to choose.  For example, I have a Nars Audacious in Mona (more brick red), Laura Mercier Rouge Ultime, & a new one from Bare Minerals that I thought was red, but on me is more of a fuchsia. (Not sure why that's happening?!!) I do have a Lipstick Queen lipliner in clear also.  What do you suggest? I really appreciate any advice, thank you!!

@RooRoo   Good morning. Better late thasn never. Smiley Happy  I always try to check back and see any notifications.

Lip liners: I only use one or two and they're both the shade that closely matches my lip color. I like to fill in a bit after lining to give the lipstick something to grab to and also when lipstick wears off, I don't want a dark line around my lips. I have a Bobbi Brown Ballet Pink and a few from Nars. Keep in mind I'm fair, but adding the liner in a nude/pink shade I can even add a pink gloss and call it a day.

I don't wear red lip colors, so can't help you there. The  issue of finding a liner to match each shade of lipstick is a great reason to find one that's a nude and stick with that.

Did you end up not liking LM Rouge Ultime you recommended? I remember looking it up, it was a pretty shade of red. @Shanus

@Mj12   Yes, I do like the LM lipstick. It's not a bright red and I blot it down to just a stain and wear a clear gloss over it. I do that with most lipsticks. Thanks for asking.

Happy Holidays.

Hey @Shanus

What would you recommend for a throat/neck creme? I am starting to see fine lines and a bit of a jiggle? 😆
