ANGRY W/ NORDSTROM'S TRISH SERVICE

I have given my name, phone #, etc. to 3 people at the Trish counter to be contacted for special events, sales, promotions.

I was at the store yesterday, saw the black director chairs lined up down the makeup aisle and a display of new pink planners, brush sets, and a rose lip palette.

This keeps happening that no one calls to let me know. Whatever happened to good CS!!!

@ShanusAlthough I suspect TRISH is a concession within Nordstrom ( I've never seen them in the 2 stores nearest me), I'd also let the store's manager know.  Also, if you've ever bought something from a Trish rep and have her card, I'd contact her directly.  I've never seen a beauty event at Nordies although there could be some and I just am unaware, but I do depend upon "my" sales associate for info in the departments where I do shop.

Have you signed up for promo, sales, and events emails on the Nordstrom site?

The younger generation for most part could care less.  I don't know how they were raised but definitely need an attitude change.  It's one thing to be confident and have good self esteem and another thing to be overly confident and act like you are better than the rest and show it.  Talk to someone at Nordstorm.  I am sure you will be contacted next time.  As much as Trish charges for her makeup you would think they would welcome new customers.  I stopped purchasing her cosmetics because her prices went to the ceiling and beyond!   HeartCat Tongue

Re: ANGRY W/ NORDSTROM'S TRISH SERVICE

@Shanus  You and I have been Trish lovers for a LONG time. Over the decades, this is what I learned regarding Trish and Nordstrom:

her account is not a large one. Nor is Chantecaille or ReVive or Perricone or ANY brand that isn't owned by Estee Lauder, Inc. They rarely have store representation (a counter) and if they do, they MIGHT have a counter manager but usually it's a part-timer and the turn over is horrible because they don't have the business to keep their job. (think about that for awhile and it becomes crystal clear as to why it is what it is).

The ONLY time I EVER had updates on Trish events, sales, etc was when the counter at Towson Town Centre had the most amazing counter manager- now retired. She knew Trish from WAY back in the day and the events at the store were amazing. WHen she left, everything went down-hill.

I don't have this problem now that I use a Personal Shopper/Beauty Adviser at my local Nordstrom. No matter WHAT the line, she contacts me. She doesn't make a commission so all the lines love her (she's not taking their sales) and she negotiates deals for samples, GWP's and things that a customer could not do. She can also pull anything I want from anywhere in the store as well as search at other stores. She has an assistant as well who works for the customer when things get crazy.

I get why you're ticked off. There really are NO excuses for it. CS is NOT what it used to be but then again, Nordstrom is NOT what it used to be.  *sigh*

@sunshine45, You obviously have solid sales associates working the Trish McEvoy counters at the local Nordstrom's in your area.  What you describe is how the system of giving your contact info to a sales associate is suposed to work.  I would suspect the same is true with other brands at your local stores.  Shanus' issue seems out of character with Nordstrom.  @Shanus, I would indeed contact the manager of the cosmetic department and the store's general manager to inform them of your disappointment with the customer service at the counter.  These special events, and the counter reps reaching out to existing customers to come in for them is one way a store markets business in the highly competitive world of beauty.  You can just as easily buy your Trish direct from her website, or Neiman-Marcus,Saks, or HSN, but you have chosen Nordstrom.  I think letting the managers know could help change things for you and other customers going forward.

Re: ANGRY W/ NORDSTROM'S TRISH SERVICE

yes @Trix our local nordstrom has great service when it comes to that.

i had no idea she was discussing a specific counter....TRISH MCEVOY. LOL.....i thought @Shanus was mentioning some new type of service at nordstrom.

some of the counters at our nordstrom do not have specific reps for the company working. sometimes it is just a rep from another counter who comes over to help you. it really depends on the amount of business a particular counter gets as to how well staffed it is by their "specialists."

The mgr. is definitely aware. I assume if you don't have Nordstrom's charge card, you may go to the bottom of the pile which is so wrong!

@Katcat1  This is 3rd time this year that I've gone into the store and seen new products, makeovers being done or guest makeup artist at counter. At least three of the associates have my contact info. There's no excuse for dropping the ball time after time. ITA, their attitudes need quite an adjustment.
