A cleanser that actually has a significant amount of oatmeal in it!

Aveeno Active Naturals Moisturizing Bar for dry skin with natural colloidal oatmeal is available at the Walmart. This stuff is great for the face and I alternate it with my Skinn AM Cleanser. It has LOTS of oatmeal in it and really cleans the skin really well. I wish they would make a facial moisturizer with the same percentage of the oatmeal in it!

Re: A cleanser that actually has a significant amount of oatmeal in it!

The only time I ever tried a product containing oatmeal (it was a cream or lotion by Gold Bond I think) my skin reacted with horrid itching and burning. Had to return it and have never been willing to try them again. The other ingredient that really creates havoc on my skin is menthol.

I'm an odd one as I have much more reactions with the skin on my body than I ever have on my face.

When my kids were younger and had chicken pox, there was an oatmeal lotion and wash that I was instructed to use. My kids were irritated more by these products than they were before. I used calamine lotion and even used a q tip to apply it.

I find Yardley Oatmeal soap works for me as I also have sensitive skin. Dove is advertised as moisturizing but I find it very drying. Live and Learn, I guess.

Re: A cleanser that actually has a significant amount of oatmeal in it!

I recently read some raves by posters discussing fav body butters/lotions?

The Aveeno Active Naturals line was mentioned and the specific product was Positively Nourishing 24 Hour Ultra-Hydrating Whipped Souffle. Doesn't it sound define - a soufflé? It was $8 at drugstore.com but it is carried by walmart and other drugstores.

Then I found this body wash: AVEENO® POSITIVELY NOURISHING® Antioxidant Infused Body Wash with White Peach and Ginger . It's listed at $7 for 16 oz. That scent sounds delicious to me and the price is certainly reasonable.

There are other ""flavors"" in the line.

I found an oatmeal/honey/goats milk all natural bar on Open Sky that has really helped with any redness next to my nostrils if get overzealous with scrubbing. I think it was $6-7 and it will last me forever...sorry, blanking on which store it was. I also alternate it with my Skinn a.m. cleanser! Funny coincedence!! Lol!

I have taken oatmeal and ground it up fine in my blender to use as a mask (mix it with honey, yogurt, other things to make a paste). I would think you could do the same thing and store it in a container, then add some to your favorite cleanser for a DIY oatmeal cleanser. Since it is food I would only add it before I used it and not make a big batch at a time. Just an idea in case you are interested.

Before I read the actual message I knew you were going to say Aveeno. My mom used to swear by this brand. This is a good reminder to try this brand again. I have used the line endorsed by Jennifer Aniston and I did like it but it was too scented. This is a real deterrent for me with a significant scent. The moisturizer did seem to be a good moisturizer for my dry skin.

St Ives has a face scrub called "Nourished and Smooth, Oatmeal Scrub + Mask". I like it Smile
