A TIP for using hair conditioner

One night I was watching Nick Chavez on the Q and he said that we should NOT put conditioner all over our heads (clogs your pores in your scalp) but rather on the ends and a little way up to not touch the scalp.  Makes a lot to me and I was really glad I heard this tip.  I decided to pass it along.  Cat Happy

That's easy if one has long hair, but how do you accomplish what he suggests with short hair?  I'm just venting as my hair is short and I know it's better to keep the conditioner off my scalp and hairline.   I just do the best I can.

@PinkyPetunia   I have short hair too but I usually do not use conditioner. I have shampoos that have argan oil in them so I really do not need conditioner.  For your hair,  I would just take a little conditioner on the ends and then rinse.

I do this.

and as for shampoo  I use only on my scalp  not actually on the rest of my hair (middle of back)

I shampoo from roots to crown and condition from crown to ends otherwise my hair looks greasy and my ends dry out.

That's what I have always done since I had oily hair when I was younger. I used to use Influx spray leave in conditioner.

Now my hair is dry so I tried it all over. My scalp did not like it.

I do use Tweak-d every once in a while. I put in half my hair before I jump in the shower, then rinse then apply all over & rinse again with no problems.

I like Joyce Giraud's Scalp Detox. It makes my hair shiny.

Joyce's shampoo says to apply conditioner to bottom half of hair so far from scalp.

Re: A TIP for using hair conditioner

My hair is healthy and conditioner weighs it down even small amounts, so no longer use in the shower. Instead what works for me original "Its a Ten" leave-in treatment. Little goes a long way. Didn't realize popular until researching. Don't fall for so called dupes. Nothing compares. Simply amazing!

I just don’t use conditioner, my hair is better without it.

I stopped using Wen as a "cleansing conditioner" because I noticed some hair loss.  I don't know if it's from the Wen or not.  Anyway, I started using regular shampoo again and using Wen as a conditioner.  I don't use Wen on my scalp, though - just mid shaft to ends.  And I DO rinse it out.  My hair has never looked healthier!

Edited to add:  If you have short hair, why not juse use a dollop of conditioner and rub your hands together?  I think you could reach just the hair, without getting it on the scalp.

If your hair is very "fly-away" though you have to use it on top.  Doesn't mean you have to grind it into your scalp.
