A Facebook question

Sorry for posting this in Beauty, but I thought it would be seen most often in one of the more popular categories. My friend and I were discussing Facebook and she told me that she had come across the names of some old friends that she no longer speaks with. Not a falling out, she just lost track of them over the years. When she went back a few days later to "find" them, their names would not come up for her. So I wondered if it's possible that the person whos pictures and information she was viewing would have any way of knowing that she was looking for information and would have somehow blocked her? I am not familiar with F/B, but thought that this might be a possibility.

She really peaked my curiosity and I thought I might ask some of you who might be familiar. Thanks to anyone who might know anything about the technicalities of F/B.
