Hello all,

I'm fairly new to WEN and blogs in general (3 mo). I am currently using FTP. I also have the 613 however it seems to really weigh my hair down. I've tried using 2 pumps 613 along with FTP with 1st cleanse, then just 1 one pump. I've tried this with first and second cleanse, however still feels heavy. I rinse, then rinse again, so feel I'm rinsing well. I have thick, coarse hair, on the curly side, just past my chin and I wear straight. I use 4-5 pumps 1st cleanse, the same on the 2nd cleanse. I would have liked to try the Fig but I need to be gluten free. I have also tried with the POM. I really want to like the 613 but may be too rich for my hair. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Based on the WEN chart of how much product to use you're not using enough. Medium length hair (especially if curly and in need of more moisture) should use at least 8 pumps per cleanse from the 32 oz. container, 12 pumps per cleanse if from the 16 oz. container.

I recommend increasing to the minimum recommended number of pumps before deciding if you like a certain formula.Smile

Hi cp, welcome to Wen!

FTP<3 is my favorite. It has a lot of protein, which is why my hair loves it.

613 is also heavy on protein (amino acids are the "building blocks" of protein).

It sounds like you are getting too much protein by using both FTP<3 and 613, and not enough moisture.

Also, like Ann said, you are using too few pumps. My hair is above my ears and I use 8 pumps for each of two cleanses.

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

My first thought also was that you aren't using enough product. My hair is to my collarbone and very fine and thin - I use 10-12 pumps (16oz bottle) per cleanse.

Thank you lovely ladies for the advice. I think I miss understood and was using half the pumps my first, 1/2 the next cleanse. I will you use more pumps next time. It was working well until I added the 613 so I naturally looked to it first. Looks like my WWC from the OTO that was on the waitlist is in process and my TSV has shipped. Looking forward to trying the other scents. I do love the FTP though. That one is definitely a keeper.

cp59, 613 has a thicker consistency than the other formulas and you need to be sure to add more water to make it froth up as you cleanse. I agree with everyone else, use more pumps. but also add water as you work it into your hair until it gets to a lighter frothy texture. You can either cup your hands under the shower and splash on your hair or actually stick your head under the shower for a second, the work it into a froth. You will feel the difference.

I agree with all of the others that you may not be using enough product when you cleanse your hair. What type of tsv did you order? If you ordered the core formula you should use one of those for your 1st cleanse and FTP or 613 for your second cleanse. Did you take the recommender on the Chaz Dean site? This was very accurate for me. If you didn't take the recommender how did you decide what to order?

Thank you all for the suggestions. I did get the seasonals TSV since I have to be gluten free. Just took the recommendation test and was recommended Fig. However that is out. The BGT was "good", so after I finish up with seasonals I will try that. As for the cores-I have Pom. Don't get me wrong, I am overall happy with the results I get with WEN. Hair is soft, shiny, and healthy looking. I will use more pumps and try the 613 again.
