Re: 60's Ladies and Everyone~Please Join Us For The New Year!

@SleeplessinSD@katte@JustJazzmom@MariotaMurielle@RetRN

Today is the day for "Girl's Lunch" because Friday my friend had a headache so we didn't go. So it's Mimi's today.

Yesterday was a BeeGee's day for us... we finally watched the recorded awards show honoring the group and then, on a further lark, watched "Saturday Night Fever." This movie was released in 1977... talk about feeling OLD! LOL It was fun to reminisce-- but that movie had a serious side that neither of us had remembered.

Here is a quote from an article explaining the honor show: "The Recording Academy and CBS will pay tribute to the Bee Gees two days after the Grammys with a concert featuring a range of artists, including Celine Dion, Andra Day, John Legend and Keith Urban"

Yes, all of these greats performed to honor the BEEGEES. It was wonderful. Stevie Wonder played harmonica/John Travolta spoke. Barry Gibb performed. The acoustics were right (for once) and the sound was great. I cried several times-- especially Celine!ā¤ļø

Re: 60's Ladies and Everyone~Please Join Us For The New Year!

Good morning everyone,

I hope you all had a good weekend. To those of you who have been under the weather, I hope you are feeling better. There is a bug going around here too.

Yesterday, my friend took me to brunch and we sat outside. It was lovely. (Yes, I am still celebrating my birthday!) Tomorrow another friend is taking me to lunch and that will be my last birthday event. Our son is taking us to the Brown Palace for Mother's Day and I am looking forward to that. We will plant our garden next week because frost season will be over...I hope!!

Mochahoney, I hope the weather is warmer now! I think your ancestry information is so interesting. It sounds like a great hobby. The Home Fires series sounds interesting. I like shows like that. I will try to find it.

SleeplessinSD, I sure hope you are feeling better, friend!  Wow! I am so glad that tree didn't hit your car! It looked like a beautiful tree. I hope you will feel up to your Mother's Day at the casino.  That should be a fun day! Take care! ā¤ļø

Katte, how are you doing? I sure hope you can go to see the kids for Mother's Day!

Loves, I'm glad you are feeling up to lunch with the girls today. I saw The Bee Gees tribute too.  It was very good. How are Brody and DBIL? I hope all is going well.

Catwhisperer, good for you for treating yourself! I know you must be going through a rough time. I'm glad you have the kitties for comfort. Take care! šŸ™šŸ»

JJM, do you enjoy cooking? You are always making tasty dishes! I'm pretty much over cooking, but DH is doing a lot of it now, so that helps.

Hayfield, how are you doing?  I hope all is well with you.

RetRN, it's always nice to hear from you!

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy day. Blessings to you all! ā¤ļø

Re: 60's Ladies and Everyone~Please Join Us For The New Year!

@snardy  Hi - I'm hanging in there!!  I am starting to feel better from my "stomach bug".  I have an appointment with my cardiologist in Tucson on Wednesday, as I've been having intermittent  "shortness of breath, so I hope things go well.  I tell you, it seems like there is always something that pops up that will throw you for a loop.  It is windy here again today and it is supposed to be cooler through Wednesday.  Your Mother's Day dinner sounds so nice.  It's always fun to dress up.  Enjoy your luncheon with your friend today.  You can't have too many "birthday lunches". Smiley Happy

Re: 60's Ladies and Everyone~Please Join Us For The New Year!

Good Evening! I'm feeling better today. My headache is gone, and I have more energy. I went to bed last night around 9 and slept soundly until around 3. After that, I think I may have dozed off, but I was wide awake around 5:30, so I just got up. It was early, but at least, I got several good hours sleeping. I'm still waiting for Andrew's pills, maybe tomorrow...

@LTT1, sounds like your feeling better from your šŸœ...I'm glad your friend was better too, so you could do your lunch at Mimi's. I'm sure it was delicious. I caught part of The Bee Gees award show. So touching and a great tribute. We love them! Sad to know Barry is the only one left. I remember Saturday Night Fever. I think that was John Travoltas first hit movie. Been so long since I've seen it, but I remember the great music and, of course, the dancing!

@snardy, I agree with Katte, you can't have too many birthday celebrations. I always kid my DH saying it's my birthday "month"!šŸ˜‰ I googled Brown Palace in Denver, because I'd never heard of it. Wow! What a beautiful place...I'm sure you're looking forward to celebrating there this Sunday! Have you ever stayed there?

@katte, I'm glad you're feeling better. Aren't you glad we're off this week from volunteering? Good luck Wednesday at your doctor's appt. I'm worried about your shortness of breath...let us know how it goes.

Waving Hi to Mochahoney, Catwhisperer, RetRN, JustJazzMom and all our friends. Missing Hayfield, Gracie2014, Martie, Fancy and boyzs. It's been a while since we've heard from them. I hope they're OK...šŸ˜Šā¤ļø

Re: 60's Ladies and Everyone~Please Join Us For The New Year!

It's been busy here-- laundry, looking for an appropriate gift for one of DS's GF for college graduation next week. Bought a Chloe rollerball set from Ulta -- one is Chloe fragrance and Chloe Love Story fragrance. They are both light scents appropriate for young women.

Plus got caught up with Linea show and the hearing on the news.

By the time I looked, it was dinnertime!

Need to cook tomorrow @snardy, we finished the steak pizzaiola tonight.

I might do a chicken recipe tomorrow.

[ Edited ]

hi friends. I'm glad to see that most of you seem to be feeling better.

@SleeplessinSD, is it still cool there? summer seems to have appeared here. it's been very warm and humid. glad your headache is gone.

@snardy, I did what @SleeplessinSDdid and Googled the Brown Palace and I agree, what a beautiful place. there's nothing like that around here! sounds like you've had a wonderful birthday week.

@katte, hope your doc can help with your SOB issue. you're right, it's always something. glad your stomach bug is wearing off.

@JustJazzmom, you're always cooking something interesting. DH and I were just talking about cooking and we're both so tired of having the same things for supper all the time. it seems like we have a rotation of the same or similar meals over and over. but every time I pull out a cookbook looking for something different to cook, DH rolls his eyes and says he doesn't want to be a victim of experimentation.

@LTT1, I'm glad there's not a Mimi's here. it would be a "problem" Smiley Happy . I hope you enjoyed your lunch with your friend. happy that you're feeling better too.

hi to RetRN, Hayfield, Gracie, Catwhisperer, boyzs, Fancy, Martie, sfnative and all our friends here.

Re: 60's Ladies and Everyone~Please Join Us For The New Year!

GOOD MORNING, Hope everyone is doing well.

Our weather has turned quite a bit cooler.  It's only going to be  60 today. Last week it was 90 degrees.  How crazy!  The local news predicted  snow on the mountains at 7000 feet and sure enough our mountains have snow at the top.  We've had snow in April, but I can't remember a cold spell in May.  I am going to treat myself to a pedicure today.  I'm looking forward to it.  I will check back later.  Wishing everyone a wonderful day.
