Glad you are feeling better today!

catwhisperer, it's 81 here right now. still hot, but much, much better than the high 90's like it has been. it was actually in the 60's early this morning and felt so good.

I'm ignoring the heat, sitting under the ceiling fan and watching Alabama football right now.

have a great Saturday Smiley Happy

Hi Ladies,  I know I am not the only one who did a little damage today buying from the Q accessories day.  I decided to purchase another Christmas gift -- (colors were starting to dwindle) I purchased the Travelon wallet set for $28.  I will keep one and one will be a gift.  I know my one girlfriend likes the longer wallet for the checkbook.  I wanted the purple but it was sold out so I purchased the green. I like the fact that no one can steal your identification.  That's really terrible that you have to think about that today. Then the Clarks evening show was really good with clearance prices and easy pays.  I have been wanting a gray casual shoe for the longest time and I purchased the one with $20+ off and it's a slip on with 4 stars rating.  98% of my shoes are Clarks because I can wear them out of the box, never get blisters, and they are comfortable.  The days of looking cute are over with the high heels that you could not wait to take off but I was young and it was fun.

I hope everyone had a really nice day.  I woke up late and did go out briefly and had a cube steak for dinner with fresh cooked carrots.  Beautiful day, low 60's.  Gosh, ladies, October is just around the corner!

Have a peaceful evening.  Cat HappyCat Happy

Re: 60's Ladies.....Please Join Us For September!

Good Evening Ladies,

Hot here again today, 86 degrees.  It is supposed to be in the high 80's all next week.  UGH.  At least we don't have the humidity like some of you all do!  DH and I have been playing Scrabble all afternoon on my IPad.  Watching Dooney and Bourke and wishing I needed a new bag.  Mistic, I have so many bags too!  Purses are my favorite accessory.

Mocha,  Thank you for asking about Sam.  He is hanging in there.  Our other dog, Maxx, has restlessness like Daisy.  He is 12 and Sam will be 12 next month. How old is Princess Daisy?   I love fall too.  It's my favorite season.  I love the cooler air.

Mistic,  I was touched by your memory of your grandmother.  My Nana was very dear to me.  My grandchildren call me Nana in her honor.

Kat,  I'm glad your mouth is feeling better!

Helen,  I hope you are having a great time!  Please let us know how the wine walk was.  What else did you do?

Hopefully my IPad is charged now and DH and I can get back to our Scrabble game!

Have a great Sunday everyone!  Blessings to you all.

snardy, we don't know for sure how old Daisy is. she was a young adult when we got her. someone my daughter knew wanted to "get rid of her" (their exact words) because they had gotten new carpet and didn't want an animal in the house anymore. my DD saw her in the backyard pen with their big hunting dogs. they had been giving her the same hard, dry food they were giving the big dogs and she is so tiny she couldn't eat it. she was skin & bones when my DD saw her and told them that she wanted her. we already had a chihuahua ( our dearly departed Mochahoney. my namesake) and they became buddies. we've had her for 15 years,so we think she's about 16.

I'm watching Mississippi vs. LSU right now. LSU is kind of beating up on my boys!

Re: 60's Ladies.....Please Join Us For September!

good morning and happy sunday everyone!

mocha:  i have been meaning to ask you about your princess the last few times i have posted, and i have forgotten.  i am glad to hear that she is holding her own.  i didn't know that you rescued her.  (and from a deplorable situation !!).  bless you and everyone who is able rescue a fur baby like that.

mistic:  i am ready for fall too.  it has been a very long and very hot summer here, and i am so looking forward to being able to spend more time outside.  i had friends long ago who had a keeshound, and as i recall it is a beautiful breed.  oh, and thank you for sharing the lovely memories of your grandmother and the sunsets at the lake.  beautiful.

helen:  hope you are enjoying that wine walk.  that village with the shops sounds absolutely wonderful.  i love little villages that you can poke around in!

kat:  glad to hear that the antibiotics and the salt washes seem to be working for you.  now it's just a matter of that countdown till the 25th!  and congrats to you on being able to score some accessories for xmas yesterday.  AND on a great pair of grey clark's!!  good for you.  i am someone who has a major supply of clark's in my closet as well.

hayfield:  how lucky for you to be expecting that lovely Dooney in your mail!  it is a beauty for sure, and i;m sure  you will  enjoy it.

it'll be a quiet day around here today.  tonight is a dance that we usually go to, but i am honestly a little pooped out after a very long fun day on friday and a very long and fun day yesterday.  i asked bf if he'd mind if we just do a little something early in the day and call it a day early.

welcome aboard to ashleycatie ... i hope you will feel comfortable here and are willing and able to share often!

wishing you all a beautiful today ...

Heart

Re: 60's Ladies.....Please Join Us For September!

Woke up early this Sunday morning so I decided to read all your September posts.  Glad to see you have acquired at least three new posters.  Hope they enjoy this board as much as I do (although I lurk more than I write).  Being that I'm not yet 60, I still work more hours than I'd like; lately six day work weeks have been the norm so I like the quiet time on Sunday morning.  My husband was gently snoring so I left the bedroom catch up on episodes of "Days of Our Lives" that I missed during the work week.

I'll make a point to say a prayer for those of you with health issues when we go to church this morning.  My small country church just has a 9am service.  When I work long hours, we sometimes go to one of the larger churches that offer a Saturday evening service.  That way, Sunday seems a little longer.  When football season begins, we like to watch the Badger (college) games and the Packers too.

Well, I'm going to browse QVC's kitchen products now.  I finally took out some new Cook's Essentials cookware that I was given last year for Christmas.  It has a steamer insert and I'm not quite sure how it works.  It doesn't seem to nestle into any of the other pots and pans.  If any of you know how those things work, let me know.  Maybe I can still find that Cook's Essentials set online and there might be an explanation.

Have a great week.  I'll try to come back again next Sunday to catch up on what's happening on the 60's board.
