Re: 5TH DAY AFTER MY GEL MANICURE 😔

[ Edited ]

Hi     @Dazlin   Woman Happy

  • If u go back for re-do, or total removal, I'd insist on a different tech  FREE & REFUND.
  • Is understandable if u insist on a refund.  (Even by phone)!
  • But is understandable, as you're busy, & cant bother.

But I remember from yr prior thread abt the siituation with yr Dad.

Bless yr kind, giving heart.  Heart

I was reluctant to respond to yr prior thread. I didnt want to 8utt in, & seemed u were interested in a Gel nail.

But any way, here's my FAST APPLY, FAST DRY Nail regimen.

You & I have the exact same lousy nails (in every way u described in yr prior thread)..

I've always had some kind of Nail Polish on my nails (since bef Pre-Teen - never, ever had bare nails, more than 10 minutes)..

I'm totally, totally IMpatient abt nails, applying & drying,

And I too, hate the look of my "grow out" at the cuticles of my nails too, like u.  (Using following method, I can reapply color product at the cuticle base along the way).

The following hints, procedures, products solve all my lousy nail problems.

All the below refer to Regular Nail Polish,

  • (no Gel, Dips, Acrylics, etc

Purchase & Use:

  • "Beauty Secrets" (Sally's Beauty) Nail Polish THINNER
    • (*thins all my (Nail Products).
  •  "Duri Rejuvacote Nail Polish"
    • (Use as a Base, & Nail Growth at Cuticle
    • (Promotes Nail growth)

(I can post pics of these products if you want)

I THIN ALL my Nail Polishes/Products

So, ALL my (THINNED) Nail Products APPLY & DRY IN MINUTES!

*Each Day, or Every othr Day,

  • ApplyTHINNED (above) Nail Product.
  • ANY COAT (clear or color) THINNED (Takes 5-7 min MAX to Apply & Dry!)   (Thinned Duri, little longer)

1)  Base Coat &, at Cuticle Grow Out.

Use:THINNED Duri Rejuvacoat Clear product, (Grow out, Touch up with Color)

2) Use THINNED CLEAR, or THINNED Color Regular Nail Polish,

  • (Apply Every Day, or Every Othr Day)
  • (Applies & Dries in Minutes. (Duri a little longr)).

(If nails still tacky in minutes, run nails under cold running water.)

Good luck!

I hope u & Dad work out well together.

Such love!   Heart

(I wish I still had my late Dad with me!)

Re: 5TH DAY AFTER MY GEL MANICURE 😔

@tsavorite   Yes.  And I will add that our diswasher gave out yesterday - we had 10 family members over for dinner and I did all the dishes by hand (without gloves).

I had just that morning put on a new coat - no damage.   I have never had that with any other polish - other than gel.

Highly recommend!

Re: 5TH DAY AFTER MY GEL MANICURE 😔

On the 6th day, the rest lifted, and I popped them off without any effort,  no damage either.  I took more pics just to show how the whole polish popped off each nail.  I posted more about it on the salons reviews.   But I'm over it, not going back.  For now, they're staying natural, with a nail oil, CND.  When I'm ready, I'll do my own again.   I have Londontown polishes, and Essie gel too.  I like 8 in 1 nail aide very much too.

@Dazlin   That has never been my experience, even with a regular manicure or gel.  It looks like they didn't do your cuticles, and the nail polish did not go down properly.  Did you ask for a full manicure or just polish?  Time for a different manicurist/nail salon.

Now I'm seriously convinced, nothing will help!  Had a Gel Manicure on Monday,  today Saturday,  just awful!!

This is with using cuticle oil, hand creams, and diligently wearing gloves.  I GIVE UP!

Will go back to doing my own whenever I get time.  I was a nail tech through the 80's -90's,  I know how to do a good job...its just my lousy nails and cuticles 😪

@Dazlin  The problem with the nails is that the cuticle was not pushed down, it has nothing to do with the gel or regular polish.

so disappointing. I don't blame you for not wanting the added stress of a confrontation with the owner. This now makes me rethink my plan of a gel mani before my cruise. Been trying to grow my nails for this but they keep peeling, breaking. Gaah. Wonder if I should go ahead and get tips and acrylic or dip. That would guarantee my nails would look good for a week.

@smoochy  Don't let Dazzlin's experience affect your decision unless you plan to go to the same salon.  I have had many gel manicures done at different salons by different manicurists and have never had that experience.  I think here the cuticles were just not pushed and the polish was not applied properly.  I have never seen anything this bad.

@monicakm  Yes I will probably get a pedi, even though I think my feet are ugly now that I'm old. Skinny, boney feet with gnarly crooked toes. Didn't used to look like this. Might cut off my fingernails for the hundredth time and try to get them to a decent length in the next two weeks.

@smoochy  the feet will look pretty with a pedicure!

(@Dazlin -> ADDED this later, Next Day....)

The above procedures that I detailed, is ONLY for Day-to-Day, (when I have no time to spar)e.

I perform the above, just to keep my nails protected from further damage than they have always been (ever since I've had, & continue to have Thyroid problems)

Now, when I have the time, I LOVE LOVE LOVE messing with my nails, Fancy+++ & Fancy-Dancy, playing with *anything* nails!  Sky is the limit!  What I havent done already to Nails, I'll entertain, & try it!  Gels, Dips, Stickers, Tattoos, Sparkles, Nail Glitter, Nail Art, all the way to piercing nails, & hanging a small nail charm!

2 weeks ago, I created a Nail Art "Beach Front" scene on my left ring finger the other night,  hues of Aqua, Blue, Green waves, tan sand, bright yellow sun, Palm Tree, boat & Bikini!  Turned out really nicely!

But otherwise, what I described above, initially (above) here, is my QUICK, Every Day "Nail Protection" (with [pretty, slightly peachy-pink polish coloring, my fave nail color, everyday nail).
