I just talked to my sister. Two of her grandchildren have tested positive for Covid. They just went back to school last week! Mild symptoms, and they'll probably be fine. She also mentioned her friend who tested positive in December and was tested again yesterday and is still positive! What?? She is having some symptoms of concern. Things are crazy right now, for sure! Just be as safe and careful as you can everyone..

@SleeplessinSD ...this covid mess is very distressful. I can't believe how many people are not wearing masks in the stores, even though it is mandated. The stores are not enforcing it. Probably afraid of confrontation.

Plus all the food recalls, rising prices, and empty store shelves to deal with. I have been shocked at how many empty shelves I have seen in several stores. What a mess.

@catwhisperer , this is why we really don't go out much. We went to the drug store the other day and quite a few were not wearing masks. No one seemed to care. I agree about confrontation. I read some stores aren't even reporting shoplifting! The reason given was there'll be no prosecution and most times, there's such a police shortage, they don't show up. 
Groceries are expensive. Everything...meat, dairy products, produce have all gone up and that's if you can find what you need. 
Another warm, sunny day. I heard we'll cool off a little over the weekend..take care.

Baby watch is over! E P, boy was born today shortly after 12 Noon at 7 Lbs. 10 Ozs. 20" long.

I was up at 2am again. I ate a whole package of peanut butter crackers. that's probably not a good thing to do in the middle of the night

in the process of packing and decluttering today I found that I have collected a couple dozen jars. I have almost gotten over my compulsion to save small boxes. now I need to work on not collecting jars. I always think I'm going need that jar for something!

speaking of groceries...DH went to 3 stores today looking for red beans. stores seem to be out of the strangest things.

DH is going hunting in the morning for the first time this season. he's as excited as a kid going to the state fair. we used the last of our venison link sausage tonight for red beans & rice, so he's really hoping to get one.

we're watching the Alabama/Georgia championship game tonight.

Good Morning!  It's another cold, sunny day here!  Still not ready to go out and play pickleball, so I'll do stuff around the house!  My childhood friend, who splits here time between PA and Florida called me yesterday, her and her DH got Covid over the holidays, both vaccinated and boosted.  My friend got really sick, her DH only mildly and he's 80!  They want us to come down and visit, we were going to go last year but then all h&ll broke loose and we didn't go.  I told her we'd think about it, not sure it's the best time to go and that I'd see if things settle down maybe we'd come down in February.  

JJM--Congratulations of the new grandson!  

MM--I rarely get up in the middle of the night, I'd probably eat something too!  Sorry about Alabama, I didn't watch the game, just saw the end of it.
