Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

hello all

Sleep so glad you back is healing and the heat pad is doing the job.

My knee i did something to it and when I walk or stand up after sit down all I see iS PAIN, how i did this to my knee have NO idea. all it takes is a certain movement and we fall apart at our age.,

not much today, did get my walk in. hurt knee or not,I walk. saw a young man today, very broken english in front of his little house, telling me he had a stroke in december and is trying to get his right side of his body back to normal, at least that is what I think he was telling me. all I could do was to congratulate him on his accomplishements of working toward a goal and i just told him to add one more footstep to each day so he will keep on moving forward.

not much else.later guys

Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

Busy days here -- expecting 2 - 4" of snow starting late tonight. I brought in the railing lights, door wreath & red railing post bows. The small wooden reindeer went back into the garage.

I did a grocery run today & it still wasn't crazy. Usually before a storm people decide they need EVERYTHING!

I canceled a routine mammogram for tomorrow & rescheduled it for next week.

Also dealing with a loss here. A cousin on my Mom's side of the family had a massive heart attack on NYE & despite his wife performing CPR, he was on life support until yesterday. So sad as he was 3 years younger than me, one of the few cousins I liked a lot because we had & still had common interests.

Anyway, we have sloppy Joes for tonight. I found Cornish game hens at a different supermarket & will be putting the same spices on the hens that I did for the NYE duck.

Today a vintage McCormick mustard seed jar arrived. So all I am waiting for is a fennel seed one to ship. I find it's 50/50 that sellers respond to questions.

@JustJazzmom, I'm so sorry about your cousin. your post and @viva923 's post about her neighbor are reminders that you just never know from one instant to another what is going to happen.

it went from 60 degrees this morning to 38 by the time I arrived at my doctor's office at 1pm.

I took a detour on the way home to stop by my hair salon to see about getting an appointment for a haircut and she happened to have just had a cancellation, so I was able to get it done on the spot. it always feels good to have a fresh cut.

my GYN appointment went well (...as well as those kinds of appointments can go) so I have that over with for another year. I have an appointment in February for a mammogram.

the painters are almost through and there's no more wallpaper visible. hallelujah!

it's leftover chili for supper. yay for no cooking.

here's a Mississippi farm sunset.

have a peaceful evening, y'all.

Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

Stopping in for a quick good night...

@JustJazzmom , I'm sorry. my condolences on the loss of your cousin..

@MariotaMurielle , you had a busy day. Getting your hair cut at the last minute was a definite bonus. I'm way overdue too.

@viva923 , you're so active, please be careful with the pain in your knee. Very sad about your neighbor..you just never know.

We had a quiet day. My husband did some rose bush pruning in our back yard while I watched. Everything's so green after all the rain we've had. I was awake at 2 in the morning downstairs with the heating pad. Using it is a definite relief from the pain I'm having but only for a while. I've been tired all day and hoping for a better night...

Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

Happy New Year!  Sorry, a few days late!  It sounds like everyone had a good New Year!  We ended up not going to the Club for NYE, a few of us were sick, one with Covid.  Since we didn't go out with our friends we went out for an early dinner with our DS, he leaves tomorrow!  The big snow storm that came through the DC was so bad that DD didn't have school all week.  It was her birthday the other day, so it was a nice birthday present for her.  DH took all the decorations down on Jan. 2, he likes to do that!  It's finally got colder down here but is going to be in the 70's again on Sunday.  Our neighbor wants to have a cul-de-sac party since it's going to be so warm, other than that not much going on.  I'll do a little cleaning today!  Enjoy your weekend!

JJM--So sorry about your cousin, I'm sure you're going to miss him.  Your DS's cat is beautiful, I'm a dog person though.  My neighbor got a new golden retriever, and she's adorable, I'll be making some trips down the street to see her!

SISD--So nice that your DH does the pruning and you watch, I like that!  Sorry to hear about your back, I have back issues sometimes too!  I googled back stretches and got some really good ones that I do every day, it does help, even though I enjoy being a coach potato when my back hurts.

MM--Love the eagle cam, the baby eagles are adorable!  That's great that you had an opportunity to get your hair cut!  It sounds like your house is getting ready to sell!

Viva--We don't have to do anything for our back, knees, shoulders to hurt, the part of getting older I don't like!

Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

We got about 3" in our area today. The Boston area got 14"!

Grandson had a ball playing in the snow today! The snow was light & I mostly pushed it. As the day wore on, it melted on cleared surfaces, but as temps fell, that water that melted became icy on uncleared areas. I had to break up the ice to be able to move it.

I made Cornish hens tonight & they were good with the remaining orange sauce.

I am waiting for 3 more spice jars from e bay to ship from 2 sellers. I got a mustard seed one earlier this week. Most of the Christmas decorations have been put away inside the house. Just 2 seasonal floral arrangements need to be put away.

@JustJazzmom, I like your antique spice jar collection. how fun getting to play in the snow with your grandson. it only snows here every couple of years, and then only an inch or so.

the painters didn't finish today until about 4:30, so rather than risk trying to cook with the paint not completely dry we decided to go out to eat. we went to our favorite country-style buffet where I always get my fill of turnip greens, cabbage and butter beans. it's a treat, since we don't get that very often.

@SleeplessinSD, I'm sitting on the couch with my heating pad on my back. I hope your back is better.

@viva923, you're getting some serious winter weather. I would like to have occasional snow, but maybe not as much as much as you get.

sending blessings to all.

here's a just-before-sunset @ Mont Helena, outside of Rolling Fork, Ms.

have a peaceful evening, y'all.
