Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good Evening, we started taking down decorations today. We didn't decorate too much, but enough to want to organize well in boxes in our garage. I have a cast iron Le Crueset pan. I showed my DH the picture @MariotaMurielle posted of her spatchcock chicken. We're going to give it a try!

Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good morning, ladies!  I live in the Poconos and haven't seen the sun in what seems like forever.  We purchased some solar lights for our front flower beds but

there hasn't been any sun to charge them.  (I wanted lights for after we take down our outside Christmas lights.) I was excited about getting them but since they are not lighting up, the excitement has waned, LOL.

The pictures you post @MariotaMurielle  are beautful & very serene.  Love them.

@viva923  & everyone else, thanks for the welcome!!

Have a great day!

Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

@RooRoo, thank you and welcome to this little corner of the world.

I'm in central Mississippi and I don't remember why or when but I've gotten in the habit of looking for pretty Mississippi sunset photos and decided to end the day here sharing them when I can.

the painters are here this morning. I can't wait to see all that ugly 1990s wallpaper gone and some paint on those walls.

happy 1st Monday in 2022, y'all.

Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good Evening Friends, @RooRoo , I looked up where you live. Are you in/near the mountains? We live in San Diego, and we're finally getting some sunny weather after days of much needed rain and cold, gloomy weather.   We got all our Christmas stuff put away and, as always, the house looks empty. I like it though and am just glad to have everything back to normal. My back has really been bothering me the last few days. Not sure why. I've been taking Advil, and it seems to help.

Waving Hi to Everyone...have a relaxing and peaceful rest of the evening.

Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

the painters were here for half the day. the chair rail is gone (yay!) and the dining area and kitchen are patched, primed and ready for painting. I am so excited that when they are finished the last bit of wallpaper in this house will be history.

@SleeplessinSD, have you tried a heating pad too? when I had sciatica Advil and my heating pad helped so much.

I made an appointment for a pedicure tomorrow and that reminded me that I haven't had my hair cut in a very long time. I had a hair appointment at the end of August, then I had to cancel my October appointment because it was scheduled for the day after Ezra was born. I really need to get to my hair dresser soon.

we grilled brats tonight and DH made chili to have tomorrow night.

sending big blessings to all.

here's a Raymond, Ms. sunset, just down the road a bit from us.

have a peaceful evening, y'all.

Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

I heard the DC area & inland areas on the NE corridor got hit with a lot of snow. Our area was expecting 1 - 3" of snow but we got nothing.

I went looking for the hens with no luck. I did buy the last package of 93% lean ground beef to make sloppy joes tomorrow.

I will visit a different supermarket & try and find the Cornish hens. I want to use up the orange sauce.

It's in the low 20's here and it's really cold. I quickly put the trash out tonight.

Our LR, DR, kitchen, 1 bedroom & finished part of basement are wallpapered. We had a painter come in 2 years ago & paint one small bedroom over the wallpaper. There is still a border at the top in that room & our bedroom.

I had to giggle at @MariotaMurielle  picture of the eaglets when she was discussing her chicken recipe. It was funny.

Re: “2022”~Everyone, Please Join Us!

Good morning everyone!  @SleeplessinSD  yes, I forgot to add "mountains" to Poconos, lol, but that's where I am, in NE Pennsylvania.  Very quiet here, but if need be, we can get to NYC or Philadelphia in about 1.5 - 2 hours.  Not much shopping aound here but that's okay since I prefer online shopping since Covid.  I love San Diego!  You are so lucky to live there. The sun finally came out here today!

@viva923  I happened to catch video of the Panda cub at the National Zoo yesterday playing in the snow!  Sooo cute!  He was sliding on his belly just having a good ole time.  Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your snow blower out, I say, that's a hint to "let it be" and enjoy the snow, LOL.

@MariotaMurielle  I think what first drew me to your pics (aside from the beauty) was that they were from Ms.  My brother is the head of a medical dept at U of M

Jackson and has lived there a long time.  We've been to visit a few times thru the years but mainly stayed in the Jackson area.  Happy to hear your renovations are almost done, nothing like starting a new year in a "fresh" space.  Good for you!!

I made a turkey breast on New Year's day & plan to use the leftovers today.  Going to make individual pot pies in little casserole dishes with a puff pastry top.  Never made this recipe before but it sounds easy enough.  Just need to get myself in gear & get to the grocery to pick up some carrots & peas.

Have a good day everyone & again, thanks for the welcome!!  Be back soon.
