Good Afternoon--I'm home today trying to get the decorating done and maybe get some fudge made. Our mini-split in the room above the garage is not working, again, and the young man is here trying to find out what's wrong with it. I'm hoping that it can be fixed. DS comes the 12th and then DD and her DH on the 23rd and I'll have to put them up in a hotel if it's not! My friends had trouble getting a part for there's when it broke down, with supply chain issues and all. We hardly use that room and I would've never had a mini-split installed up there if I knew how unreliable they are. It's what the builder gave us when we built the house and we didn't know any better.

MM--It sounds like your DSIL has very good doctors, being veryf thorough. Praying for the best outcome possible.

SISD--How fun being a part of a studio audience! I haven't watched The View in years, I don't watch much TV during the day and if I do, we usually watch someone on one of the cable channels or DH is watching sports! He was watching soccer before he left to play golf! So glad he's out of the house for a few hours. I'm listening to Xmas music now!

I still have to do some minor decorating here. We decided not to put up a tree this year. @Hayfield

Spent this past week bringing DH to 2 doctors. DH has opted not to continue with his prostate cancer treatment as it isn't doing what it's supposed to do. He isn't a candidate for chemo either. We are going to get set up with a palliative care specialist & who knows when that will occur?

Only bright spot this week was Home Depot shipped me drawer pulls & cabinet knobs to replace existing ones in the kitchen. Kitchen had satin nickel ones which looked drab against the white laminate cabinets. I changed them out to a black stainless color that have a design on them. I was greatly limited in drawer pulls because they are 5" on center. Most cabinet drawer pulls are 3" on center.

hi friends, our adventure of the spend-the-night party with Ezra went better than expected. we thought he'd be up for a bottle at least once or maybe even twice during the night but he snuggled up in a little ball between us and slept all night. he wiggled a little several times but never whined or cried.

DH and I are both exhausted though, so we're ordering pizza tonight instead of cooking.

@JustJazzmom, I'm so sorry to see this about your DH's ineffective treatments. I'm glad you're so much closer to family now.

@Hayfield, I have no idea what a mini-split is but I hope you can get it repaired. I love fudge. it's not good for me to be anywhere near fudge because I have no control over myself when it's available.

@Hayfield, like @MariotaMurielle , I've never heard of a mini split either. I do hope you can have it fixed and ready to use for your DS and DD's visit..

Im meeting my sister on Monday at a hotel in Laguna Beach. She's been after me to do this, and I finally agreed. I haven't seen her in a while, so I'm looking forward to it. I had the day to myself. DH went to watch football at our DS's house. I was able to get a few things done around here and also put things together for my trip.

@MariotaMurielleI think a mini split is a type of AC/heating system that is on the upper wall & you can control it with a remote too. This system is used in Asia & is gaining popularity here because it doesn't use the large central AC system that sits outside & contains Freon. The advantage to this unit is if the heating goes out on your home with the boiler/burner, this system operates separately from that so certain areas of your home can still be heated in the winter.

Had a pleasant visit yesterday with 2 of our sons. One son helped hang 3 small pictures in 2 different rooms & helped me move a long thin mirror we had screwed into the linen closet door from our previous home to an area where it won't break.

The other son helped me change out the final 3 knobs in the kitchen. One above the refrigerator cabinet had to be removed with a pliers holding the screw while turning the knob. When it finally came off, we saw the screw had sheered off inside the knob!

That was my fear when I started replacing the knobs & pulls because some of the screws had divisions on them to be used with various thicknesses of wood.

I was successful at removing most of the old knobs & pulls.

I spent yesterday morning writing up our Christmas cards & changed out the dining room table decor for Christmas items. I put out the Jim Shore sleigh which hold 5 resin ornaments that I bought many years ago from QVC. It was part of a seasonal set which had an Easter Basket with resin eggs, a cut watermelon with resin fruit, a cornucopia with resin vegetables & Santa's sleigh with resin ornaments. That was a very nice promotion he had. I hung a wreath in our hallway on the coat closet.

I see Jim Shore also sells some items on the Colorful Images website. They are known for their colorful address labels, Christmas cards & checks.

Going to make lamb chops today so I am putting together the spices for it now.

Good Morning! I finally got the rest of the fudge made for our ladies gathering on Tuesday. Almost got the house decorations finished too! We played golf yesterday and did on on the front 9 but really terrible on the back 9, I think i was just too tired yesterday, getting ready for the holidays and all!

I hope that everyone is having a relaxing Sunday!

JJM--I hope that DH's new course of treatment works well.

We have the mini-split that actually has duct work, but most are mounted on the wall! We did get it fixed yesterday, didn't need any new parts!

thanks JustJazz for info about that minisplit.not much for today.did normal prep chores,did morn walk, sheet day all folded and put away. dh took all the heavy blankets/sheets to laundramat today

not to much today.did normal chores,did morn walk,folded clothes,then onto computer work.found out today that computer monitor we ordered from best buy on 11/25 was NOT ORDERED CORRECTLY so we paid for nothing.dh has to stop by best buy tonight to get this mess cleared up tonight.

dh did stop at best buy last night he got that monitor straightened out, suppose to have it by 9th december.

it is wet rainy today,a medium rain that has been steady since early morn, did get my walk in,cleaned the back room here, have clothes to fold that is about all for now,later guys
