Good afternoon; in honor of Cinco de Mayo I am making chili tonight with rice on the side.  Haven't made that in a while so it will be a nice change.

Raining on and off here too so will be indoors all day.

I've been getting all kinds of Mexican recipes on Facebook today @JustJazzmom . Unfortunately I don't have the ingredients on hand. They should publish them in advance. Just like our newspaper will have some brunch recipes for Mother's Day in the Sunday edition. Speaking of Mother's Day, hope all the moms on this thread get to spend time with their families this year.

I usually keep a can or 2 of red kidney beans in the house (I use the light red beans) & I have the McCormick hot chili powder in the house too. I have onions, diced green peppers, canned diced tomatoes & a 6 Oz. can of tomato paste & a can of sliced mushrooms.

It all comes together in about 40 minutes. I am enjoying a margarita now.

Re: “2021”~60’s Ladies and Everyone, Please Join Us!

it was a much better day today with no storms. they (can't remember what they're called, the people who rate tornado strength) said the tornado that went just south of our house was an EF-1, about 110 mph.

I got my glasses today and I'm pretty disappointed. the area of the lens for distance vision is perfect, but when I look through the lower area for reading it's really blurry. I'll go back tomorrow and see what they can do.

DH grilled chicken breast/jalapeno deer sausage kabobs tonight and they were delicious.

sending big blessings to all.

here's a Biloxi lighthouse sunset.

have a peaceful evening, y'all.

@MariotaMurielle  Shouldn't be blurry on bottom.

Chili was great. Maybe I'll pick up some cornbread for it when I reheat it again.

Re: “2021”~60’s Ladies and Everyone, Please Join Us!

it was such a beautiful day! sunny and 70 degrees. pretty close to perfect.

I returned my glasses to Walmart and got a refund with no hassle. I've been seeing posts here and on FB about buying glasses online. I'm going to do some research and consider doing that. I know someone who has been buying prescription glasses from GlassesUSA for a while and has been happy with them. my main concern was being evaluated for eye disease and that was all negative.  I know what strength I need for distance and for reading so if nothing else,  I could just wear the generic  glasses and not even worry about buying prescription lenses.

have a peaceful evening, y'all.

@MariotaMurielle , I'm glad you were able to return your glasses. Good luck on whatever you choose to do..

@viva923 , I hope you're feeling better..

@AuntG , always so good to hear from you...

Missing some of our regular posters. I hope they're well and just busy enjoying getting out more. I've been dealing with outer ear pain that comes and goes. Sometimes very painful. Not sure what's going on. Sending caring thoughts and blessings to everyone...
