Re: “2021”~60’s Ladies and Everyone, Please Join Us!

@JustJazzmom , the madeleines sound so good. I've never seen hazelnut flour. Of course, I've never looked for it. Loved reading about the roses!

@Grand Happy , I wish I could offer you suggestions for sleep. I usually have no trouble falling asleep. I just find myself most nights waking up after a few hours and not being able to get back to sleep. I also take melatonin. My doctor prescribed sleeping pills, low dose.  I stopped taking them because the melatonin worked better. I don't fight it anymore. I'll either read or get up and go downstairs depending on the time. My husband also snores which doesn't help since I'm such a light sleeper. Good luck!

@katte , such great news you're feeling so much better! I'm glad youve been able to enjoy getting out more too. Thanks for stopping by and letting us know. Continued healing thoughts and prayers...🙏

Sounds like everyone's keeping busy. We just got home  and finished putting a few things away we picked up while out. Not much else going on the rest of the evening but relaxing. Sending blessings to you all..

Re: “2021”~60’s Ladies and Everyone, Please Join Us!

hey y'all. it's been a gray, drizzly day today. a good day for those pesky household chores and reading.

we talked to DD tonight. she saw the fetal specialist a few days ago. apparently she didn't really add any new information but DD will follow up with her again. they did do an ultrasound but it's still too early to know the gender. at the visit she was 11 weeks and a couple of days. I forgot to ask if she got a more specific due date. I'll have to remember to ask.

@Grand Happy, we are about to become 1st time grandparents too!

@katte, glad to hear you're feeling so much better.

@SleeplessinSD, I'm so happy that you like the Alpha skincare. isn't wonderful when something so affordable really works?

Re: “2021”~60’s Ladies and Everyone, Please Join Us!

Happy Saturday everyone
Sleep, I push my hubby to his side to help him stop snoring LOL
MariotaM, love the Air Force planes, we're proud Airmen parents 💕
Congratulations on your first grandbaby, you're going to melt when you see and hold the precious gift from God.
Viva, our church building opened for inside service in October. We first watched online, then outdoor but so much better inside. The kids came back a month ago, it's so nice to see things getting somewhat back to normal.
We went to Home Depot, a friend asked my hubby to build a octagon wood stand for her son's upcoming wedding, so fun staring at wood, so I checked out the garden Dept and of course I found a beautiful purple clematis.
Have a great weekend girls 😁

Re: “2021”~60’s Ladies and Everyone, Please Join Us!

Hi all; a busy day -- I removed more dandelions from our yard that I had missed & then my knee started to bother me. I ended up doing a load of wash, drying & putting it away.

Going to make ground veal meatballs for dinner tomorrow with onions & tomato paste as the sauce. It's a Lebanese dish that uses ground pignoli nuts with cumin, coriander & some other spice in my rack.

Have a great rest of Saturday.

Re: “2021”~60’s Ladies and Everyone, Please Join Us!

Happy Sunday,
JustJazz, your dinner sounds really good, Enjoy!
We're going to have a picnic lunch by a Creek in the old, fun, wine tasting town( we don't taste) and shop at the fun stores. The town is dog friendly so our little pooch will be happy.
It'll be 88 here today, what happened to Spring
Enjoy your day ladies 🙂

Re: “2021”~60’s Ladies and Everyone, Please Join Us!

Let me post the recipe:

Daoud Basha

Ingredients

2#s ground round beef or ground veal or ground lamb -- 1/4 Tsp. salt -- 1/4 Tsp. pepper -- 1 Tsp. cumin -- 1 Tsp. coriander -- 1/3 Cup pine/pignoli nuts, ground -- 1/2 Cup plain bread crumbs -- 2 large yellow onions, cut into 1/2 moon slices -- olive oil -- 6 Oz. can to,ato paste -- 4 Tbsps, lemon juice or juice of 1 lemon -- 2 Tbsps. fresh or dried parsley, chopped -- Optional 6 Ozs. water

Method

1) In a small bowl, mix salt, pepper, cumin, coriander, pine nuts & bread crumbs. In a large mixing bowl, break up meat & combine with the spices bread crumbs mixture. Form into marble sized meatballs.

2) In a 12" non stick skillet, add onions & fry on medium heat until the onions are soft.

3) Add meatballs & cook on medium to low heat turning so they are cooked on all sides. Add tomato paste when meatballs are cooked through. Add lemon juice & the optional water if needed. Prior serving, sprinkle with parsley.

Serve with basmati rice or couscous.

Yield: 80 - 85 meatballs

Recipe can be halved & if desired a 1.5" diameter coffee scoop can make golf ball sized meatballs.

The veal makes it very delicate tasting over using beef or lamb. I have made this with each of these meats.
