hi friends. it's been another very cold, gray day here but the weather people say that will change tomorrow.

we will be taking DD and baby Ezra home tomorrow. I'll miss them and I'll really miss snuggling with that warm, fuzzy head on my shoulder.

I made another one of DD's favorites for supper tonight, salmon patties. I made them in the Ninja and I have to confess that they were the worst salmon patties I've ever cooked! I think I cooked them too long. they were like salmon flavored hockey pucks.

@MariotaMurielle , I have a feeling it won't be long before DD and sweet Ezra are back to spend time with you. I think you said you'll be staying there until Christmas. Ezra's first! I can't wait to see a picture of him and his dimple. I'm Lol'd reading about your salmon Pattie's. Too funny!

A bIg storm is headed our way starting tomorrow and lasting through Christmas. We'll be staying home, but some of my family will be traveling. All of our gifts are wrapped and under the tree. Everything I ordered has arrived too. @JustJazzmom , I agree, the days are flying by!

Hi Everyone

Sounds like everyone is ready for Christmas.  I got all my presents wrapped and under the tree.  We are going to go over to my DB today to bring him the remainder of his gifts.  He won't be celebrating with us.  He's not feeling well due to his cancer.  We went to visit the kids this past week.  They live five hours away.  It was so nice. Hadn't seen them in almost three years.  We left on the 15th and came home on the 19th.  We stayed at DS's house which was nice.  My DGS had us over for dinner on Friday night at his  new condo.  It was very nice.  They ordered food from a barbecue restaurant and had a variety of desserts.  We also went to a farmers market and a tamale festival.  I made lasagna one night.  The visit went by too fast.  It's supposed to rain tomorrow and Christmas.  Wishing everyone a blessed Christmas.

Good Morning!--Only two days until Xmas!  I've got my dinner made and in the freezer, we have another couple coming over, so they'll be 5 of us.  A friend wanted us to go out tonight to a place where I know they'll be a big crowd of people, I told DH I didn't want to go, trying to get through the holidays without getting sick.  I've done enough partying this season and I'd rather stay home.  We have plans for New Years Eve, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed we get to go, one of the couples is not going now, due to family issues, I feel bad for what they're going through now.  

It sounds like everyone is busy, as usual!

SISD--So glad DGD made it home for the holidays.  I'm sure you'll be happy to see her!  My DD is heading to Ohio, I think today, to spend Xmas with her DH's family.  She said they're only staying 3 days, DD gets two weeks off but her DH has to work on Monday, he doesn't get the time off she does.  Now that DS works for a university, he gets three weeks off duri

LLT!--I'm sure you're very busy with your grandchildren, I hope it snows just on Christmas to make it special!  I loved when it snowed on Christmas when I was little!

MM loved your post today, i was chuckling reading it. i know ezra will be back and he will remember being loved bunnied by grandma.those bodies/heads of babies are just so soft and adorable.

we are back from taking DD and baby Ezra home. we had planned to go tomorrow but had to change it because DSIL's family decided to have their Christmas gathering tonight.

when we got home DH said "wait...do you hear that?". when I asked him what in the world he was talking about he said "the quiet".

ok, yes. we are used to a very quiet house and having a crying baby here was a little nerve wracking at times, but I already miss the little nugget.

however, I guarantee we will both get a good night's sleep tonight.

Good Morning!--It's Christmas Eve!  I made some chocolate mousse for dessert tonight and the pork tenderloin is marinating and the potatoes are in the oven.  I'm sure everyone is busy getting ready too!  It's sunny and warm here today. Enjoy!

Good morning! It's Christmas Eve! I also have a pork loin marinating in the fridge. I'm serving mine tonight with black beans & rice. Yesterday I made a dulce de leche pumpkin pie for dessert tonight & tomorrow. 

All I need to do is a final grocery run for milk & a lime. 

Our youngest is bringing his cat this weekend with him & it will be the first time we will have seen his pet. I hope it's well behaved. He is driving from the Boston area to us. 

Here is a picture of the pie. Recipe is at Washington Post: Dulce de leche pumpkin pie. There was enough filling left for a small ramekin last night & we shared it. You can find dulce de leche cans at Target.
